There's also Perfetti and Zegras...

Out of the bunch, I would go after Fantilli #1 methinks.

you woukd trade 4 first eound picks for fantilli?

Yes.

But I'm considering the offer sheet cost in conjunction with moving Larkin, and possibly ADB and Gibson, for futures, prospects, etc. There are assets coming back, and a new center coming in. And 1sts going out.

The net is I would be fine making a big revamp in this manner.

It could offer a new avenue/ look to the Larkin trade as well. It would be less necessary to get NHL players only in a return. Just spit-ballin': Larkin and Faulk for Brock Faber, Danila Yurov, Charlie Stramel, 2027 & 2028 1sts.

The combination of the two is a better overall picture, IMO.

Also:

Just as an exercise... SY ends up with (4) 1sts in 2027, all in the 20's, and has an offer on the table to trade up to the #3 spot in the draft.

Do you say yes, or no?

Yzerman doesn't want to rebuild. 🤷‍♂️

PS: And I'm the opposite:

I'm trading pending free agents which means Gibson, Faulk, and ADB and Copp.

There may be little interest in anyone but ADB... But I'm moving what I can for three reasons: Not losing a guy for nothing. Futures. And the stress it puts on Larkin to open up his trade parameters.

nope.

and even if you wanted to do that, minny doesnt have the salary cap space to absorb faulk and larkin.

you get a good young defensemen along with two third and fourth line players, plus two late firsts.

Helene St James seems to be disputing that Larkin added Dallas to his list.  She wrote an article today that was updated at 4pm that only lists the original 3 teams and says there was nothing new to report.

Rumors:

1) dallas offered robertson for larkin.  wings said no because there is no indication robertson will sign an extension and the wings dont want to pay him $15m.

2) wings asked for wyatt johnston instead.

3) some consternation at paying debrincat current rate for wingers.

if all that is true, we are boned.  you cant get good players and not pay them.  dallas isnt giving you wyatt johnson for 30 year old dylan larkin.  if youre not willing to pay 100 point players $15m then when are you ever going to get one?

if any of this is actually true, stevie needs to adapt to the new era.  if he cant, you have to get a new gm.  i think its time for a new gm anyway, but if this is the way he's going to operate, then you need to move now.

I'm on board with this.

I get it.

Our current state of affairs is not good enough.

And if Stevie Y is stuck in the 90's... It's time to move on.

I am onboard with this as well. His refusal to start the rebuild over is a big sign of trouble to me. It signals an unwillingness to realize things have failed and a course correction is needed. It signals to me that he doesn't quite get why this rebuild as failed either. I'm not fully ready to say fire Yzerman yet as I was with Holland. But I'm on the cusp of it.

These rumors are troubling but just rumors. I could see how Stevie would not want to trade for Robertson without an extension in place, just like with Hughes. I could also see that he would not want to have $25 million tied up in two wingers with no clear 1C or even 2C.

Ultimately, though, Chris Ilitch signs the checks. It would be very weird if Chris said, “I would pay $11x8 for Debrincat” and Yzerman said, “I won’t do it. He’s not worth it.” So what are the budget parameters under which Stevie is operating?

I don't know if the parallel holds at all, but Al Avila, who talked too much about everything- has said that the process was the Tigers got a budget number to spend each year and it was up to the GM to spend it as he saw fit.
