Erie plays a series in Richmond the last week of May. I don’t think it’s out of the question that Jobe will still be at AA then. Hoping to see him pitch there. Over the years Tiger affiliates have vacated anywhere near us geographically. The closest affiliate from us is now is about a 10 hour drive to Erie with a couple of rest breaks.
Here's hoping you get to see Jobe in late May, and he arrives here in Toledo shortly after 😁. Looking forward to multiple trips to 5/3 Field in downtown Toledo to watch him this summer.

Repeating my Keith tweet here, just because they are things I think about.
I love this move, you have to think his MiLB managers and player development people have been asked for input, he has passed eye test and definitely excited to see him in a Tigers uniform this year. Plus it shows other players team is willing to pay up for talent. I am actually excited for this year to start. Waiting to see how our pitching staff shakes out, hopefully without major injuries this year.....

And the Arizona Fall League kicks of tonight:
Glendale (Zach Penrod, Red Sox) at Salt River (Jackson Jobe, Tigers), 9:30 p.m. ET

Heading into the offseason: Tork & Greene made good strides forward ( Please Riley can we see an injury free season in 2024 ! 😉 ), a surprising year for Carpenter and the return from injury for Skubal. So...2024 Pencil in P. Meadows in center and see how he develops, Greene/Carpenter corner OF/DH until Riley is out there full time. A big RH OF bat, probably thru trade. IF to begin...Verling at 3b ( maybe Jung shows promise in AFL, Baez at SS, Keith at 2nd, and Tork at 1st ( hoping for another step forward in 2024 ). SP FA, Skubal, Mize, Olsen & Manning ( Is he injury snake bit ? 😬) Shake & bake RP as needed, maybe see Madden mid year, Jobe by Sept as replacement SP? Is this the year we get to 85 wins?...I see definite possibilities

Jobe starting in the regular season finale for the Seawolves on Sunday. Don't know how the AA playoffs work but Erie is in them so he may pitch there as well. Either way I wouldn't be shocked if he pitched in AFL this year since he hasn't thrown that many innings.

Question answered 😎 Hopefully at least 2 starts at Erie coming up, regular season and playoffs. Looking forward to seeing the K/BB #'s continue 😀

I'm not sure you want to put tons of pressure on Colt Keith to save this terrible mlb team. They probably need to win a few games and get a bit healthier to make the team a little more presentable.
Let Keith get to Toledo for 2-3 weeks; By then the mlb team might have stabilized and they can bring him up after the break.
Yes, definitely. I was probably unclear, promoted to Toledo, until the the end of Toledo's season.
-
Seriously, is there anyone at Toledo blocking Keith from being promoted??? I know they want him to work on his defense, but really......
-
Holy Toledo!! Or soon he might be there...Colt Keith with a 2B, a 3B and 2 HR and 8 RBI. That will lift OPS+

It would be great if Miggy finished with a lifetime BA of .300+....500 HRs isn't going to be as special going forward...but 3000 hits, 500 HR and a .300 average...that is something
& 600+ doubles & 1800+ RBI's. Still hoping (not expecting) a couple more Miggy moments this summer

This is about where I'm at too except I'd add Vierling for the big league roster and Malloy in the minors. I can't think of any pitchers in the system outside of Flores or Madden I'm particularly excited about. Maybe we'll get a surprise like we got with Skubal a few years back.
How many starts before Ty Madden is in Toledo...😀

I think those 3 listed guys will push themselves to AAA before too long... Flores, Hurter and Madden.
Pitchers I am excited to see this year are Flores and Madden & the return (hopefully) of Skubal. Hitters, besides Greene & Tork...are the development of P.Meadows, Keith & Pacheco. I know small sample size, but I am encouraged by Rogers so far!

So, is anyone else hoping Justin pitches 2 no-hitters in this series, but the Astros lose. Not that I would prefer the Yankees in the World Series, I just want Justin to say no to his player option and test free agency.
-
Oh, I definitely agree with both your statements. JV has no logical reason to leave the Astros, whether he accepts the player option or gets a better contract, which he should after this season. And our corners, both infield and outfield do not currently excite me, the possibility of improvement is there but not highly likely percentage wise. My thought was getting these 2 would max out any reasonable budget if we could get them, and hope for lightning in a bottle from Greene and/or Tork. Maybe instead of Correa we after a corner outfielder and keep Schoop. Obviously the desire for JV is both intellectual and emotional.

Offseason acquisition...Go nuts to get Verlander and Correa. Move Baez to 2nd. C= Rogers/Hasse 1B=Tork 3B=Kreidler LF=Baddoo CF=Greene RF= Meadows SP= Verlander, Rodriguez, Skubal, Manning, etc. How badly do we screw payroll to entice those 2 to come here? If they don't laugh at the suggestion.... Can Tork, Greene, Baddoo, C duo be replacement level players next year?

Pacheco at 19 years of age going to high A ball is impressive. Tigers must think a lot of him.
I am definitely watching Pacheco with great interest! Anyone with more knowledge than me, is FSL still supposed to be pitcher friendly league? Were his offensive numbers highly ranked for league/ player age?.....
-
Do you think we could offer everyone except Flores, Madden and Pacheco on our Top 30 plus anyone on the MLB roster except Greene for Juan Soto we get anywhere close???? 😁😂
-
Anyone know why Colt Keith left the Whitecaps game after getting on base? Hopefully not an injury...🥺
-
Or possibly after 2 years, Baez goes to 2nd and Kriedler/ Workman / Colt Keith end up at short. Would have preferred Story but still excited for the upgrade in the 2022 Tigers defense. From what I saw of Torkelson and Greene at Toledo, after whatever adjustment period to MLB we should have an exciting team next year for however many games are played... Still hoping for another starter...lol

Ok, so they didn't bury themselves out of the gate. Decent start. Starting pitching, Skubal great, Mize & Olson ok, everyone else hit and miss. Relief pitching amazing! Defense generally excellent with some miscues but will certainly take it. Offense.... well, timely enough for a few wins but generally stagnant. Seeing signs of Riley and Tork coming around, but seems like the kids from Florida & So Cal really don't like cold weather 🥶😂. Here's hoping Summer gets here quickly 😁
