Lol, I've been arguing against the alleged economic benefits of publically funded stadiums for decades.

With respect, you seemed to be ok with some of the contracts for recent renovation jobs going to the Adduci organization.  Perhaps, however, you were merely making an observation.  I will admit that those Adduci companies do seem pretty efficient in getting COs issued, especially in Toledo.  I heard one account of a fully executed "blank check" CO that "Jimmy just needs to fill in what they did."

They are incredibly excited.  "Incredibly" seems to have replaced "very" in our vocabulary.  Personally I find it to be very credible that they are excited.  Or should I say incredibly credible.

I don't recall Duce using either word.

    That’s still saltwater, right?
We talked to one of the campground hosts where we were (just off the York River near Gloucester), he said they’ve also had reports of manatees in the area. Seemed a bit far upstream, but……

Quite brackish that far North.  Enough salinity for sea nettles and skates, though.

Saw a dolphin a couple of weeks ago. He was in one of the rivers off the Chesapeake Bay, about seven or so miles upstream. A bit farther than I expected to see one.

    Something is up

Have seen porpoises in Eastern Bay by St. Michaels.

I have 100% faith that Rogers could have sustained his 2021 performance if the injury had not occurred.  Maybe not the .800 OPS but I would bet on 24 HRs and 24 doubles in 135 games which is pretty nice for a number 9 hitter.

However, next time he plays he will be 28 so it's possible we have missed his prime years with the bat.

I wonder whether catchers have shorter or earlier primes than they would otherwise have due to wear and tear.

Looking through his minor league stats, he was a catcher after being drafted.  But I think he was a SS at Virginia Commonwealth and the Tigers converted him to C.  Unfortunately bbref doesn't have college stats available for him to back this up.

As I recall, he was also a college closer with a mid-90s fastball.
