That looks like dog**** if you ask me. Just randomly adding black into your jersey is dumb. If you are the Raiders or Steelers and black is apart of your team colors then obviously fine. But just because you can have a black uniform doesn't mean you should. That helmet with the black Lion looks exceptionally terrible imo.

I was hoping for an all blue uniform to be the third jersey with either the helmet design they used last year or a return the Bubbles the Lion. I think it would have been sick to have a white helmet too with a blue lion logo on it.

Something sorta like this but with a different helmet featuring either last years design or Bubbles.

I disagree. I actually think the black ones are my favorite ones of the release. It could be that I don’t love the team colors to begin with but that’s what they have to work with.

Another thing regarding Carlton Davis and the guy he replaced. I know PFF grades aren't the be all, but Carlton Davis had a 58.2 PFF grade and Jacobs had a 57.1 PFF grade. I get it, Davis is a better player than Jacobs most likely and the stats from last year and PFF grades don't exactly paint that picture, but don't provide full context either. I like the player, but there are other moves I would have rather made, namely signing Kendall Fuller.

I don’t disagree with you on the preference of those 2 players. I just think we have to look at it from the perspective of who are GM and coach are. They seem to be very loyal to their guys and want to build from within while prioritizing their own players via resigning them. With that said and with them in charge I doubt we will see them go out and give big money and long contracts to free agents. They are going to fill gaps with vets and useful players while protecting the culture at every turn.

My guess is they are going to look at finding a ceiling developmental CB in the draft. Also looking for a starting guard within the first 3 rounds to keep the whole OL salary lower as they look to give out big money to Sewell. After that it’ll be about rounding out depth across the whole roster. Whatever they miss out on they will look toward camp casualties to fill out the rest of the roster.

Now the question at Safety is about whether or not CJGJ comes back.

I'd take him back if its at the same cap number as last year or lower and no longer then 1 year, otherwise let him walk.  His mouth gets him in trouble but he does add some emotion to the defense and plays with a chip on shoulder.

I'd also resign Moseley to a prove 1 year deal and bring in a rookie CB in the first 3 rounds to fight it out in camp at CB3  Sign someone like Gilmore to fill in the other side opposite of Sutton.

I'd rather look at vets on 1-2 year deals but If I were to break the bank for anyone is needs to be a younger player at either CB, DE, or pass rushing DT that also deosnt include a franchise tag. ( Allen, Burns, Johnson, Sneed come to mind but all could get franchised)

  4. In hindsight its easy to say he should have kicked the FGs but at the end of the day 1 TD is worth more then 2 FGs and the plays were there and not made by the players on the field.  I believe that we have 2 glaring weaknesses that make me good with those decisions.  Our kicker is below average for an NFL kicker and our defense is prone to given up lots of chunk plays and points.

To finish this year in this spot is a positive and I believe we are here one year faster than Campbell and Holmes were planning on which is why the above weaknesses are still there.  This offseason I believe we correct these issues as we have a good drafting GM, cap space to use and a young team with energy that free agents are going to want to be part of.

It was a fun season and should be a fun offseason as well. However ,this loss stings for now.

My only problem with the 2 point decision was trying a 3rd time. Presumably you’ve already used up your two best play calls by then.

Normally I'd agree with you here but in this case the number 1 seed is the only thing that matters and you have to win out.  2 and 3 seeds are both playing with home field advantage and have to win an extra game.  You aren't penalized form your current position if you lose.  You also have one of the worst kicking games and going against one of the best. Overtime doesn't give you better odds of winning the game then a 1 and done play but that's in my opinion.

Frankly if Goff throws the ball higher and in front of Mitchell he scores so if executed better I think we are celebrating how much guts it took.

  6. if you are looking for wide receiver and following the RAS scoring chart then Bryce Ford-Wheton is still out there.  Also Zack Kuntz as an extremely athletic TE.

I wouldn't hate Ronnie Bell either as a high character pick and gives you special teams help.

I love both players, doesn't matter where they were taken, but it does matter that the Lions got them.

I agree with this.  In many of the mock drafts I did I had the Lions taking both of these players because I felt like they were excellent fits.  I just had a 2nd round grade on them but that doesn't mean the rest of the NFL feels that way.

    wait, are you actually saleagreeable2834?

    Ha, maybe.

For me on these QBs it comes down to college systems and the talent that the players had around them in comparison to who they’re playing. Levis played in a conference where in half their games or more are playing against elite athletes that many time outmatched his teammates. Stroud and Young played in friendly systems where they had the better talent at every position then there opponents. They didn’t need to lead or to make their teammates around them better.

Stroud limitations sounds like it could be the ability to process defenses. He didn’t have to do that in college. Youngs issues are his size for me. Richardson is time playing the position and inconsistent results. Levis to me is an accuracy and decision making. The last two guys could benefit in Detroit because we have the luxury of them riding the bench and being coached up for a year.

I’ve never meet with any of them and have only watched a handful of games. I’d pass on taking all of them. But I’m not going to be to upset if one of them is our first pick either.

  9. Levis is my favorite QB prospect in this draft now. As of today I have them ranked below and this was a recent change of order for me based on the recent test results.

    1. Levis

    2. Richardson

    3. Young

    4. Stroud

  10. I am not against the Lions using the 6th pick to take a QB if they fall in love with the potential of one of the QBs. If it were me I’m rolling with Goff next year so if I’m taking QB I’m taking the one with highest ceiling and don’t worry about the bust potential.

    IMO my order would be

    1a- Richardson

    1b- Levis

    2- Stroud

    3- Young

Young has the lowest ceiling imo and I don’t like short QBs. Stroud is the best QB to me but I believe him to be the most mentally soft. I also don’t like Alabama or OSU QBs as they had a silver spoon given to them all college. Richardson and Levis have size, arm strength and athletic ability. If you believe you can coach them up I think their ceiling is extremely high. If they bomb out you still had another 1st rounder in a deep draft in your position of need.

  11. I am a fan of banning the shift.  I actually believe it will help at bats move away from being two dimensional, strike out or home run. The shift allowed pitchers to pitch into the shift and limiting the ability to hit the other way. Yes it’s true that the best hitters still could do it but usually with less positive results. So what did hitters do, they changed their approach to just go with the pitch and change the launch angle and try to hit it as far as possible. Led to more swing and misses which also increases pitch counts for the pitchers. I believe that by banning the shift pitches will move back to using the whole plate and will put more balls into play.

With that said the part of the rule I don’t like is that infielders can’t be in the grass. Where is that line and is it the same in every ball park? I don’t believe MLB should take away all of the tools a defense has to create good angles for themselves.

    just my opinion of course.

will note that Ian Anderson, huge part of 2 post seasons and a WS run for the Braves, was just demoted. player development is not a straight line. and if Tork's problems could be fixed with 2 weeks in Toledo, they would have done that in June. i am concerned that his bat looks slow which screams Stewart to me.

I dont see his bat speed as an issue. I think he is in his head a lot right now. This is a guy who has never struggled for long at any level. I believe he needs to get out of his head in the batters box as he looks indecisive which has not been an issue in the past.

I don’t know if it’ll be later this year or next year but I believe his bat still has huge upside for us, even if he’s not had the start everyone was hoping that he would be right away.
