  1. His k-rates from 2016-19 were not egregious, so maybe he got into a bad mechanical habit, or was suffering from a minor injury.
  2. This is a specious assumption, and no more likely for him than anyone else. He likely won't ever walk much, but the rest is baseless.
  3. The differences in value among the five are not as great as perception may lead you to believe.
  4. Only fans would be upset if something great happens, because something slightly greater didn't happen. Any of the five free agent shortstops would be great, you could make a case for all of them being top ten in the league, and all would be huge upgrades. Be happy if they get any of them.
  5. I wouldn't give any weight to anything reported.
  6. The focus on the number "300" is gonna seem really accurate if Correa ends up signing for 304.
  7. Athletes get hurt, it's a risk for all of them. Unless you have a chronic issue, having a past injury isn't really predictive of future injuries.
  8. I believe, if he doesn't have contract for the following season, and he meets the qualifications, he maintains his arbitration rights.
  9. He's a free agent. Whatever contract he signs for is what he will be paid.
  10. Because the players wont agree to them?
  11. When your latest proposal is to lower the luxury tax by 30 million and install a floor, two things that can only **** off the players, it doesn't bode well.
  12. I tried, ended up betting Milligan vs Marshall
  13. I'm sure they'll tweak the current rules, but as long as there is a line to cross before free agency, someone will be just short and get screwed, even if it's age, someone will be two weeks too young at the cutoff. But with arbitration is that really a big deal, that a few have to wait one more year for free agency? I think people are making a bigger issue out of it than it is. Players want shorter time to free agency, owners longer, that's the bottom line.
  14. Can't see the players agreeing to that. Too invariable.
  15. If they sign Correa, he'll say they WAY overpaid.
  16. He actually has exceptional bat speed and bat to ball skills. The problem is, with those skills, he's always been able to hit everything. He still can, but not so consistently in the bigs. If he only had a little discipline, he be a true superstar.
  17. Story and Taylor strike out just as much, Seager isn't much on defense and Semien is old, so i guess you'd only be happy with Correa.
  18. Small samples are like trying to read tea leaves.
  19. Generally when you trade, you exchange a surplus for an area of weakness. There is no point creating a hole to fill a different one.
  20. Batting average, like ERA for pitchers, is a poor tool for evaluation, especially for small samples like a partial season.
  21. I think they took it easy on him this year, coming off the heart issue and a year where he couldn't pitch or even work out.
  22. To be fair, Honus is at the stage of his career where the skills are starting to fade.
