Slightly frustrating that the White Sox —- the WHITE SOX —- are buyers at the trade deadline while the last 2 years we’ve sat on our hands (Charlie Morton & Finnegan aside). The Sux picked up a reliever from the Mets overnight. Sure would be nice to make a couple moves to fortify the pen and see what we can do with that “top record” since June in making a run to the postseason.

Please tell me this is internet hubris….

For what it’s worth, a friend of mine is a scout in the Dodgers organization. I asked him his thoughts on the prospects/analysis of the deal: “You got three good ones from us. But I think we got the bigger deal. River Ryan when fully healthy has Skenes type stuff. Zyhir Hope is a big leaguer. Don’t know Brady Smith personally like the others but all indicators are will be a nice big leaguer.”

We may be facing Skubal later this season…… Dodjerks visiting Comerica at the end of August.

would be interesting if we moved some other pieces to BUY some talent to make a run in a weak AL Central/AL.
