  1. If winning the division is all you care about then Harris is 1 out of 2 with one huge collapse. If you simply care about winning the wildcard so be it. With this roster that is all you are getting in 2026 if we are lucky. All I am saying is that where we are on December 18th, this is not s World Series team.
  2. Drew Anderson pitched well in Korea and has pretty good heat. I can see him in our bullpen.
  3. I do not trust Scott Harris’s judgement on free agent signings or trades. I also think he made a mistake with the Torres qualifying offer. For a couple years he has said he would use our own system, free agency, and trades to improve going forward. We have heard from Harris and Greenberg we need to address our bullpen, but still waiting while 2 hard throwing relievers signed elsewhere. One of those, Helsley, they wanted to convert to being a starter while Helsley wanted to remain a reliever. He signed with the Orioles. Harris has done a good job improving our minor league system and signing Torres last season, however, he has failed to increase our chances of getting to the World Series through trade or free agency in my opinion.
  4. I would offer a 2nd year, but still pursue Fairbanks..
  5. You snooze you lose! Two decent relievers already off the board. Harris is snoozing at he wheel!
  6. Devin Williams signs for three years with the Mets. As expected from Scott Harris, crickets.
  7. Illitch and Harris are so cheap Hensley signed with the Orioles? Tigers blew their load on Torres and Flaherty. He would have helped our bullpen, but will now help the Orioles.
  8. I do not think the Tigers were expecting both Flaherty and Torres to be back. That is $42.5 million they thought they could spend in free agency or for Skubal. Besides a reliever or two, I highly doubt that Illitch and Harris will do anything with the offense to improve our chances, meaning we will continue to fight for a wildcard spot, be eliminated, then lose Skubal after 1 more season for basically nothing.
  9. Yikes! I go to one thread and they are talking 1950-60 TV’s, here? Chilli. For the record, not that anyone here cares, but I wouldn’t mind Helsley and his 100-102 heater as a reliever, but not a converted starter.
  10. I see I haven’t missed much in the last 48 hours! However, if you want to talk Avilia and TV’s you are probably in your glory.
  11. Without adding to the offense and addressing the strikeouts, this is still a fringe wildcard team. We will again be shutdown by quality pitching opponents. I can appreciate the Mets, Dodgers, and Red Sox trying to improve their rosters.
  12. Still an over abundance of mediocre short stops and third baseman, except for McGonigle and Anderson. Would love Bregman or Suarez but highly doubt the Tigers will offer.
  13. We are still a flawed hitting team that strikes out too much. We cannot stop adding just because we signed Torres. He is only getting $7 million more than last season. We are over stocked at SS and 3B with Keith, McKinstry, Ibanez, Baez, Sweeney, Vierling, McGonige. Anderson, and Jung. Something has to give. Personally. I would still shoot for a more veteran 3B, a starter behind Skubal, a good OF, and 2 relievers. However, I still do not think Harris and Illitch are interested in adding that much payroll. .
  14. Alex, I hope I am wrong, but I do not see Harris and the Tigers spending this kind of money particularly with 1 year buyouts attached.
  15. Detroit is not a good option if your priority is money and years. What happened to trades Harris said would happen once we had a number of prospects? I see Harris targeting 3rd tier free agents and holding on to our top 10 prospects. Hope I am wrong.
