Not that it was a bold prediction or anything, but just because those times when I get to say I was right are pretty slim... I was right. I didn't watch the game so I know now how it looked on the field, but it seems like the Stallions defense was pretty stout. Kept them to just 4 FGs.

My understanding is that the sports books are providing the info to the NFL. I believe that this is an agreement between the NFL and the sports book to do this.

Howdy, I'm looking at taking a road trip up to Pictured Rocks a little later this summer and just wondering if anyone has suggestions on things to do in the Eastern UP? I'm already thinking about taking a boat cruise to see the Pictured Rocks, though I don't know which of the various offers are the best. Also considering stopping at Tahquamenon Falls and and maybe going to Mount Arvon (highest point in Michigan). Possibly White Fish Point and the Soo Locks. Any suggestions? We're generally looking for relatively low strenuous activities or quaint shopping areas (not so much malls, but like little downtown shopping stuff).

The Lions are well aware of Buddha's blatant hatred of Goff. Goff veto'd him from having a shot.

Found this on facebook: I don't know if they are taking team need into account or strictly how the player has done. I think Sewell has been great for us, but if you're arguing team need, the yeah CB has been a weak spot the last couple of years while OL has been the strong spot so Surtain may have been a bigger impact player. Either way they "re-drafted Sewell" just two spot later so they're certainly not trying to say that Sewell was a back pick there. I have no idea what's going on with pick #12... apparently we traded up? Is so, why are they listing J. Williams (Javonte Williams?) as the original pick there? The biggest point in the Lions favor though is pick #10. ARSB moves all the way up from the 4th round to a top 10, 1st round pick. Right now it's hard to argue that this is the best pickup of the Holmes era in terms of production vs. draft round.

Quoted for Truth. There's LOTS of potential there, no doubt. But so far it's only potential. Because this trade was so involved with draft picks it needs to be grades the same way drafts are graded: After 3 years or so. That said, given how well Goff has played (at least last year) I would say just one of those players becoming a star player makes it worth it to us, and there's definitely potential for more than one of those to reach star status. I will say the "Stafford won a SB" part isn't really apples to apples... what I mean is if the Lions don't win a SB in the next 3-5 years that doesn't mean the Lions lost the trade. Football is too much of a team sport and depends on too many factors to say that one key player (or even three key players) are the sole reason you win or don't win a SB.

Yeah, it was a touch watch... those many penalties really screwed up the rhythm of the game. The Panthers are quite undisciplined as well. Part of that might just be non-NFL caliber players, but they shoot themselves in the foot soooo many times I starting calling them the SOLs in my head. Again, the Panthers are by no means a good team (like, even a USFL good team) so I wasn't expecting much, but still a bummer to see them lose. I predict whoever win the south today will easily take the championship next week.

Honestly with how bad their OL especially is and how many stupid penalties they've committed all season long but reaching the playoffs was more than they could have hoped for. Still a bummer... Lions still have the last playoff victory for Detroit football.
-
Game over... Panthers stopped on their first 2 tries while Maulers were successful. Maulers win it. 😞
-
OT Rules: Each team gets 3 tries from 2yd line. Each score = 2 pts. After 3 tries team with the most points win. If still tied, then sudden death.
-
Panthers move down the field and get a FG to tie it up. Overtime.
-
Maulers with the TD, 39 seconds left. Point after is good, Pitts with a 3 point lead. Panthers have two TOs left.
-
Now 4th and goal from the 7.
-
Sooooo many penalties at the end of this game. Maulers with an illegal snap takes a TD off the board. 3rd and goal.
-
Maulers hurting themselves... False start, incomplete, False start... 3rd and 16, then Panthers PI gives Maulers a 1st down. 1:08 left.
-
And then a stupid penalty after the play gives the Maulers good field position. 1:58 left.
-
Panther's with a huge TD strike that gets called back on a Facemask... ...then the facemask call gets over turned and the TD is good! Panther's with a 4pt lead, 2:04 left.
-
Panther's miss their FG, Maulers come back and get a FG. Maulers up by 3 with 3:15 left in the game.
-
Maulers try a fake on 4th and 1 mid field and the Panther's hold! Turn over on downs.
-
Pits ties it up in the top of the 4th qtr.
-
Anyone watching? Final minutes of 3rd quarter and Michigan with a 7 pt lead.
-
Now is the time to do it! There's a lot of hype and excitement all building up (which means the Lions will fall flat on their faces and piss us all off again).

The Lions are dragging you back in, aren't they??

You can't carry it forward... like if you're under the cap by $10M this year, you can't have an extra $10M next year. What you could do, I suppose, it restructure a current players deal. For example: Anzalone is due (in base salary): 2023: $1.2M 2024: $6M 2025: $6M I suppose in theory they could restructure it so his base salary is (again, using $10M in cap space as an example): 2023: $11.2M 2024: $1M 2025: $1M This would be kinda like moving $5M from this season to each of the next two, but there's a danger here. If Anzalone plays well in 2023 and you want him back for '24 and '25... he might hold out for more money saying that $1M is too little to play for. The team would argue that he's really getting $6M for '24, but that he just got paid upfront, but a selfish player might still say he's worth more and you better pay him... What's he got to lose? You already paid him $11M last year so he's sitting pretty and if he's really improved his play some team will pay him if the Lions get fed up and cut him (seeing as his cap hit would be so low). For the record, I don't think Anzalone would do that if he was in this situation, but he potentially could do it, which the team needs to take into consideration if they wanted to do something like this. It might be smarter to do this over a number of players... like move $1M from 2024 to 2023 for 10 different players.

I like it... but then I've always kinda liked that old school logo.
