Right now St. Brown is tied with Mike Evans with 49 receptions. That good enough for 13th in the league. This despite the fact that Brown sat out wk 4 against Seattle and 85% of week 7 against Dallas. It just amazes me how often he's open given that he's often the only real receiving threat the Lions have with all the other injuries. It could be really interesting when Jamo gets on the field.

Well I see two possibilities: 1. He's not fully healed but the Lions consider a 85% Swift better than a 100% someone else. 2. He's gun shy now and worried about further damage to his body so is avoiding going all out.

Sounds like a "buddy" hire more than thinking he'll make a real difference for the Pack. That and maybe giving the Packers a few insights into how to beat the Lions next goround.

Not that I want him out, but Evan Brown filled in very nicely last year so it's probably the one OL spot I'd be the least concerned about. Again, I'd much rather have Ragnow in, but if you asked me to pick an OL that had to be out for an extended period, that's the one I'd probably pick.

Just thought it might be interesting to look at the three big defensive line options from the last draft. Obviously this is still very earlier in each player's career and involves different situations so this isn't a perfect apples to apples comparison. In hindsight, sure... but who expects a fumble there? You try to push the ball out a bit... if you fail, then take the safety.

NGL, I gave up after the Bears went up by 14. But then I checked the score later as saw the quick pick six and get dragged back in.

INTs aren't always the best measure of a defensive back. There's more than a little luck involved in INTs and with the numbers pretty + or - one INT can shift ranking pretty heavily. That said, outside of the INTs I thought he looked good so it's sad to see how far he's dropped off. I almost wonder if there's a nagging injury we don't know about? On a side note: Why did I think we got him last year (2021 draft)? I was sure he was a rookie last year, but we drafted him in 2019. Weird.

I really wish there was a way to get radio audio on TV instead of the national announcers.

Well, keep in mind that Hock played 47 games with the Lions vs. Ebron's 56. So, on a per game basis: Ebron: Yards: 37 Receptions: 3.32 TDs: 0.2 Hock: Yards: 44 Receptions: 4.23 TDs: 0.32 Now, while those are better numbers, they are phenomenally better. Which makes me think the trade was a better idea.

Yeah, it's a close one but this game probably did push it over the edge.

I tell ya... it was SOOOO enjoyable to see all the facial expressions by Rodgers. That made the game super enjoyable.

The protocol OFF the field failed. On the field the refs aren't medical professionals. They can't be expected to judge it. They see something that might be concussion and they should take the action of referring to the pros. The doctors should have been able to clear ARSB, but if the ref sees something, s/he should act. In a perfect world ARSB would have been sent to the sidelines for a play or two while the medical pros verified that he was fine, and then he would have gone back in. That's the part that failed.

Anyone know if the Lions have received the apology letter yet on the "interception"?

Kudos on the Ref here... he saw what looked like a woozy ARSB and he did the right thing by pushing him off the field. He's not a doctor, he's not trained to do a full diagnosis. He saw something suspicious and he took immediate action. This is the RIGHT move for the ref. Now, if the medical professional make a mistake, that's another story. But on the field that was the right thing to do.

Outside of some team giving you a stupid crazy offer, I agree with this plan.

I think you're forgetting some free agents that Holmes brought in that have made significant contributions: Charles Harris and Jamaal Williams, for example, where big impact players last year and have also contributed majorly this year. Anzalone and Raymond have also been regular contributors while not really star players they have done their part. Josh Reynolds was also a mid-season pickup who's been a good addition to the team.

I don't think these two posts are logically consistent. In one instance you are saying that the fact that Holmes missed on three is what makes it bad, but then you're also saying that each pick is independent. It feels a little bit like taking 5 At Bats for a hitter in a game and saying that he struck out on the 2nd, 3rd and 5th at bat, so it was a bad game for him while ignoring the home run he hit in his first at bat and the single he got in his 4th at bat. That's not to say that I'm pleased that Holmes appears to have whiffed on the other guys, but if you only look at the bad things without considering the good, then yeah... Holmes, or any GM, is going to look very, very bad.

Last game was the first time I really worried that Campbell might not be the coach of the future. Obviously he's had bad games many times already, but that game was the first time I felt like he didn't have a good handle on the players or on the game. This week I want to see a better game plan, I want to see the players giving it their all for him, and I want to see progress. If we see all that and still lose... I won't be happy, but I'll at least feel better then I did after the Pats game. If we don't see any of that and we lose, well, then Campbell's seat is getting hot in my opinion. I love the guy and I love how he motivates the team, but that HAS to translate to wins on the field or it's all for nothing. I don't think there is anyway he gets fired this season. And I'll frankly be a little shocked if he gets fired before the 2023 season starts even if he finished with 3 wins again. But, if he gets 5 wins or fewer (outside of losing Goff) I suspect his seat will be very, very warm come 2023. I could see him getting fired halfway through 2023 if this year ends up a bust and if 2023 doesn't start off hot.

Officially, no. Unofficially, yes.

I guess it'll depend on how the season and off season goes. I mean, if he heals up and has a good off season I expect they'll give him a shot in 2023 to prove all the haters (aka: RedRamage) wrong. And that's what they should do. But if the needle continues to not move on him all season long and all off season long, then yeah, I could see him being cut.
