https://www.nfl.com/voting/rookies/ Now, it's a fan vote and there's no limit to the number of times someone can vote so it's pretty meaningless, but I suppose it's cool that he made the list at all.

Tigers Hire Scott Harris as President of Baseball Operations
RedRamage replied to oblong's topic in Detroit Tigers
Did he use to stare at you when you sat in the stands... signaling that he approved of your posts online? -
Well, I'm a believer. Against the Lions: Passing: 18/32, 56.2% for 243 yards, no TDs, no INTs, QBR of 80.6. Running: 90 yards on 17 att (5.3 avg) and a TD Against the Vikings: Passing: 26/31, 83.9% for 333 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, QBR 108.7 Running: 57 yards on 11 att (5.2 avg) and 2 TDs Hurts ran on the Lions a lot more. I didn't watch the game with the Vikings so I don't know if they were keying on stopping him from running more or if this was just a case that they didn't need to because Hurts had no problem passing.

Week Two: Washington Commanders (1-0) @ Detroit Lions (0-1)

Geez man... is there any QB you will NOT compare Goff too favorably? -
Week Two: Washington Commanders (1-0) @ Detroit Lions (0-1)

I don't want to get too ahead of ourselves... it was a solid win, but: 1. There were still times when the offense and defense looks bad. 2. The Commanders aren't a great team. So I think it's early to starting printing the playoff tickets. Vikings will be a big test. if we win there next week... I might say we need to fire up the printer. -

We should see if the Rams want to trade QBs and if they'll throw in some first rounds picks with their QB seeing as how ours is better. -

Feels like you're saying that Goff is better than Jackson. 🤮 I don't understand how you could think that. -
Week One: Philadelphia Eagles (0-0) @ Detroit Lions (0-0)

Was I just imagining thing or was there a pretty blatant facemask on Goff that didn't get call as well? I remember one time he was sacked and I thought it was almost violent enough to consider it a penalty for driving Goff into the ground, and then on replay it looked like the defender has his facemask. -

I agree that the 9ers are better than the Bears. I would not have put the Bear above the Niners. But I also don't think I would have put the losing team 13 spots above the winning team. I know it's week 1 and I know that Power Rankings are meaningless anyway so I'm not losing any sleep over this or draft a letter to my congressperson about it. As for the Lions, they hung with the 9th ranked team forcing, putting up 35 points. They still lost and they still have a rep as a bad team, so I'm not expecting a super high ranking, but I think the 20-25 range is reasonable. Again, I'm not losing any sleep over the ranking, just saying I think it's wrong. -

ESPN Power Rankings have the Lions at.... 27. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34580647/nfl-week-2-power-rankings-2022-1-32-poll-rookies-stood-week-1 I mean yeah they lost, but so did 14 other teams. The Bears who won on Sunday are still ranked 25. The team they beat, the 49ers, are ranked 12th. -
If you're not picking Green Bay to win the SB every year from now on I'm going to hunt you down and beat you up.

It does lend itself to some nice nicknames though: Commies... 'Ders... -

Isn't Philly supposed to be a dominate running team with "okay" passing? Seems like it's pretty logical that the secondary would look better than normal while the front seven looked worse. -

He had a few really good penetrations, but whiffed on a few tackles. Like the Lions, there was a lot of promise there and something to build on. -

That's really interesting. I never suspected that about you. You hide your hatred well I guess. -

I'm not upset, no. Philly is the more talented team. (virtually) Everyone knows this. You need to take some risky shots, sometimes it doesn't pay off. -
Week One: Philadelphia Eagles (0-0) @ Detroit Lions (0-0)

PARTYLY to blame. Some of the drops were all on the receivers, some of the drops are mostly on the receivers, some were on Goff and on the receiver. -

I feel like Goff is partly to blame here. I know the old saying: If it touches your hands you gotta catch it. But it seemed like a lot of Goff's passes were just not in ideal receiving locations. -

So don't film the locker rooms.

Anyone see the Iowa-S.Dakota game? I wonder if something like this has ever happened before. Iowa's offense was NOT shut out.* Iowa's defense did NOT score a TD. Iowa's defense outscored Iowa's offense. Here's a link with the painful "highlights" to the same with zero TDs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPejgjoQqlo (*I suppose you could argue that the 'offense' did get shut out as the FG was scored by special teams, but typically when talking about the offense or points scored by the offense FGs are usually included I believe.)

But how much of that was because of Slater? Bob Quinn was with the Patriots from 2000-2015, only two losing season during that time.

And while we're on the topic of side notes: Was anyone else surprised at how little Ben Johnson was featured? Now I'm sure part of that was just that the Duce/AG part was very entertaining, but honestly it just felt like Johnson wasn't around.

Agreed... and the stuff they did show was very interesting to me. Showing a bit of the players themselves... some of the players families... how things like cuts down decisions are made... how Brad and Dan handled cutting players. That was very entertaining to me. On a side note: Does anyone not think that if (when?) Aaron Glenn gets a HC job that Duce Staley won't be gone in an instant as his OC?
