  1. I don't think they trade Skubal...and this is what I was hoping they would do. Sign his "replacement" a year early and greatly increase our odds of not only making the playoffs but having a long run in the playoffs in 2026. Assuming that is what they do, I like how it sets us up for the future. If we make a long postseason run this season, it makes us an appealing destination for a FA pitcher (including Skubal) next offseason. They would get to pair with an already signed top quality starter and enjoy the fruit of our developing hitting prospects.
  2. Well...that is disappointing. Do you think there could be any leaks, or are both sides pretty willing to play by the rules?
  3. 💰Happy Skubal Arbitration Day!💰
  4. I think he gets a 6 year contract with an opt out after 2. If he continues winning awards, he could go back on the market after 2. If he doesn't, the team isn't on the hook for 10 years.
  5. That would mean the Tigers signed him since the next summer Olympics is in 2028. Bold prediction!
  6. I'm curious to hear (because I value your Tiger wisdom)...what is your prediction on McGonigle for this coming season? Do you see him on the roster in the spring or do you them waiting until August when they can keep his rookie status for 2027? Or maybe something different? (If you posted this somewhere else, I apologize.)
  7. I too think this is good news. My guess is now we don't go after Bregman (if we ever were going to).
  8. You are very gracious to keep your real life friends as friends, because that is a pretty major flaw in their character.
  9. This seems like it could be good motivation to go ahead and give out a big contract now before the CBA changes. It could be a short term work around for the coming salary cap.
  10. I have absolutely no idea how it works to go from one CBA to a new one. But, wouldn't there be some transitional mechanism so that teams working under the old agreement aren't punished by the new agreement?
  11. I wonder if Jack Flaherty looked at possible options and just really liked Detroit. He has said that he likes the manager and coaches, enjoys playing with these teammates, and probably assumes there is a great chance at being in the playoffs. Add to that an offseason of personal and family stability and it might be worth not taking a chance on opting out.
  12. Andrew Graham out as manager of Erie. 🤷‍♂️
  13. But...the Tiger's offense has out scored the Mariner's offense in this series 18 to 16. Maybe we should be talking about how the Mariners' offense is having more trouble scoring runs.
