Those who served in the integrated military know all this stuff is stupid.
Lots of racism still but when you work together you learn that the difference are not actually significant.
Not once and never would. I can only imagine the hellscape that detail would be. My USSS peers tell me the stories barely cover the insanity (e.g., Eric is brain damaged, DJr is coked out).
The checks and balances against espionage are never perfect. I always consider that one of the people I'm briefing at any given time might be a self-indulgent narcissist who wants to trade on the information i'm providing to get himself a bag of cocaine or a blowjob or a nice new house. The negative incentives for espionage are imperfect.
Lets take a second and let me express plainly that Snowden and Assange were espionage agents. If you can't accept that they did severe damage to US and Western security through their vanity and arrogance we won't be able to move forward in reality together.
I suppose your right. There is no way the US needs to protect its sources and methods and the Chinese and Russians should be able to do any goddamn thing they like.
There are some weak-ass takes on this spy. Throw the book at him and bury him under the jail. He's got nothing to offer anyone but his example as a warning to others.
