  1. Until the playoffs
  2. Did we want a tougher schedule? Is that why we lost to TCU?
  3. This album is an acquired taste. Its not the bubblegummy hippity hop of their other stuff. These guys were artists with a real vision. If I'm low or annoyed this is one of those anthemic pieces for my jangled GenX spirit.
  4. The competing big deals: Jan 6: literally a directing a coup and threats against the VPs life. Many witnesses. A huge black eye for the nation. Some deaths. He's already been impeached on this but only a handful of Republicans voted to remove. documents case: smokingest of the smoking guns because its literally a documents case. And lordy there are tapes. Not exciting to those who never signed a US Government NDA but, surefire a PROBLEM for the correct operation of the government if the President can ignore the law. Stormy Daniels: dude, we know he did it. Lots of mob behavior. Cringy evangelical attempts to ignore the obvious. Its definitely one of the indictments. Probably good it was first out of the gate. Georgia: Could you overthrow the election for me? Pretty clear cut. Ukraine: Could you dump bad news about Biden for me: wait he was impeached for that. Sadly, only a few honest GOP (Collins and Romney) in the Senate voted to remove.
  5. android phones in particular are really aggressive at promoting downloading tik tok aren't they. I think I got half a dozen urgent requests to download this critical app when i got my burner.
  6. couldn't happen to a creepier guy
  7. The part of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy where Irina marvels at the Christians she saw being interrogated always got to me. It was really where my faith lies. I'm paraphrasing her line "you see people at their worst and sometimes at their best" If you can use your faith as a shield against evil --not the petty bs sins of the bible thumpers -- but true evil where people are degraded and made to suffer. That is an effective faith. and let me tell you my faith has suffered since 2015.
  8. Michigan's air and water also recycle pretty quickly compared to some places. I'd certainly take the air and water over LA.
  9. it was a point of contention between people in my church growing up. My Dad got back into his episcopalian faith for a while in some very "high church" group that had incense and robes and all the magic tricks. He's back with a very small methodist group now appear to be very normal except they wonder why no kids want to join their church.
  10. I always was the only protestant kid on my block in Livonia. I would be asked if i was going to first communion or catechism or whatever other Catholic thing and when i said I wasn't i felt left out and the other kids would ask me why i didn't believe in God. Meanwhile, the same stuff probably played out in the bible belt in reverse. Stuff like that is annoying.
  11. I think for a while there was some believe that Billy Graham was unimpeachable but his son sure put a bullet i the family legacy.
  12. My "like" was not that i liked that all those people died from lung disease. My dad crazily enough for having lived with my mother, is also the 94 year-old-energizer bunny. His energy and mental sharpness is amazing. He drives still across the state from Oceana County to Livonia like twice a month to deal with my handicapped brother's various appointments.
  13. Its been happening since Saturday but still
  14. dude is a mess of conflicting compulsory nonsense. Whatever is at the bottom of that, he's not qualified to be president except in extremis. His thwarting the coup would make him barely, barely, at the minimum level of acceptable for that standard.
  15. He lit into Trump during his announcement. I was thrilled to watch that but he is the most borringest man on this planet of Earth.
  16. In the game Civ6 you encounter the Canadian leader Wilfred Laurier and know he's not going to backstab you.
  17. I list one of my hobbies on my CV as getting bronchitis, thanks to living in a house and driving in a car with a mother who smoked a carton a day. She smoked so much that near the end of her life she had oxygen in the house and her Directv remote had multiple cigarette burns. How her house didn't burn down is one of those things I can only attribute to blind luck. I'm at the point now that I'm almost at the point where I can call my doctors office and -- callback to an earlier thread -- they know I need antibiotics, albuterol, and benzonate.
  18. That jomboy account is actually my personal account. I'm prolific.
  19. its pretty crunchy out there today. I can only imagine what its like in Canada and places closer than here.
  20. as a fellow introvert i salute you
