  1. Speaking of WWIII. If Vladdie uses a nuke in Ukraine. Would that be enough justification to bring NATO into the war? Say, Kiev or Kharkiv gets a tactical nuclear weapon resulting in tens of thousands of deaths. Would you favor a no-fly zone and direct support to Ukrainian ground forces?
  2. Not sure if this supports any argument. It would be nice if this was a Russian ship that had hit one of the Ukrainian sea mines.
  3. I think there are some emotional proposals that would not make good policy. If the oligarchs are his center of gravity (maybe) Denuding their wealth through the tools of the Rule of international law is sane and correct. Putin's real center of gravity might be western sycophants.
  4. for example..
  5. If this hasn't already been memed...the internet is too obsessed with Ukraine.
  6. FTR, i wouldn't mind seizing yachts owned by oligarchs who are tied to the ongoing conflict. Keep it legal.
  7. Logistics are going to be a problem for both sides.
  8. Not sure of this source but
  9. This is the Randy Quaid character [glug, glug]
  10. Yeah, World Historical Genius Vladdie.
  11. But it was good that they had a dominant autocrat to guide them because of the unique nature of their nation which it is wrong to judge using the standards of Civilization
  12. I have my doubts about this as well Cool if true
  13. i have doubts... but maybe. There are just as many adrenaline junkies among our veterans as the Russians have Chechens and Wagner contractors
  14. He's got some details different than what I had thought. I don't necessarily agree that the Russians didn't have their phones. They have made a hash of this because this was all Putin listening to his "mypillow guy" (i.e., advisors who tell him what he wants to hear) who fed his vainsanity which resulted in a bloody mess.
  15. Now just get rid of Tucker
  16. Ask him later, much later. He's doing work to defend Ukraine. More than many.
  17. a little bit of reading on this topic reveals general pessimism that this will take 20 years. Turkey is still not in the EU for example despite applying in 1999. I was scratching my head that this was like...an immediate declaration of War for Ukraine. What it means maybe is that the EU doesn't want Ukraine to fail and will keep funneling arms etc. I think also this explains the exemplary behavior of Turkey in this crisis.
