  1. Schadenfreude feelings to see that the quisling American who is skating for China's olympic team is getting destroyed on Chinese social media for having a fall.
  2. They started out with some red zone issues but they eventually got to the point where they were playing 4 dimensional chess with their opponents.
  3. JJ McCarthey is the QB they need to win a National Championship. Now, getting him the other pieces including staff support will be the question.
  4. I think this is Donna Shalaylah's Miami not Stephen Ross' Miami.
  5. "Gattis had HR issues" is the rumor. Mutha-f. Dudes, keep it in your pants at the workplace or with the students or whatever.
  6. also note that below there are commenters that say that Ivashov has been in opposition to the regime for a while. Others saying its a ruse. We shall see.
  7. Tom Nichols should know. He wrote the text my class in grad school read on the Soviet armed forces.
  8. This persistent dream that an accommodation of some sort can be made is out there among even the sober diplomatic crowd like Bill Taylor. An arms control agreement would not be a bad outcome if it limits some of the very exotic new weapons coming down the pike. It wouldn't be bad to limit foreign election interference or created some rules for foreign behavior in an election. It would be great to guarantee the civil and human rights of each other's citizens too. Likelihood?
  9. So, notable that Turkey has backed Ukraine. Keep that in mind.
  10. The degree of UAV intergration of Russian and Ukrainian forces will be super important too. The US has this stuff down pat after 20 years of GWOT and we've got extensive systems of systems designed to train up operators, have trained low level units in using them as their battlefield close air support systems . This was demonstrated effectively in the recent war in Armenia/Azerbaijan when the Turkish UAV systems were decisive against (lavishly) Russian armed Armenia forces. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/has-azerbaijan’s-use-drones-karabakh-transformed-warfare-181526#:~:text=Azerbaijan forces had used Turkish Bayraktar TB2 Unmanned,armor%2C artillery%2C and tactical ground-based air defense systems.
  11. Well, Don Brown thought he was pretty smart until OSU started all them bloody crossing routes against his D.
  12. Napoleon and the Constable of France would have both been wise not to attack the British on muddy ground.
  13. again, I would caution that the frozen ground isn't as much of an issue given all the tarmac roads. Then again, watch Bald and Bankrupt's youtube channel and you'll see the Former Soviet Union is very backward as far as its road nets go.
  14. He is dying to do this. I think he's annoyed that the Olympics might be a problem for him and make his bank (Xi) unhappy.
  15. As for crossing rivers. I don't actually know how likely that is. The rivers in Ukraine are the good kind that flow North to South which means they don't necessarily freeze up. Rivers in Siberia have the bad habit of flowing South to North which causes all sorts of swampiness when all that river backs up because of ice. However, having read all that. I see that the Dnipro does often freeze over. Regardless, the Russian Army have bridging equipment.
  16. You would think that. However, its actually notable how much hard packed ground of winter figures into the Russian big wins throughout history. Stalingrad was caused by a Operation Uranus in late 1942. The Red Army saved Moscow in winter 1941 because they shipped their Eastern Siberia army to Moscow via the railway. The Red Army was much more foot-borne in those days but having hard cold ground mattered as they were trying to move large forces at key vulnerable spots in the German lines. The traditional campaign seasons in the steppe are Winter when the ground is frozen and the hottest, driest part of the Summer. The muddy season which starts sooner than Vladdie would like would purportedly be a hinderance....except its modern times and all the roads have tarmac now.
  17. Noclador is thinking the moves are starting to creep toward the start of this thing.
  18. I’m the right color if i can get $4billion single dollar investors
  19. Honestly, the Harbaugh being a different kind of guy is code for he's probably got high functioning autism. Whatever, he's functioning.
  20. Sometimes eccentric is and sometimes eccentric is
  21. We are in agreeance as to the issue. Its really amazing that in a league with 70% AA players, where a guy like Caldwell can lift the Detroit Lions into "mediocrity" from their normal ceiling of "embarrassing" can't find work. I want Harbaugh to succeed. I would have been interested to see Gattis take over the program.
  22. Not until Lebron James and maybe Oprah Winfrey or maybe Tyler Perry decide to buy a team (if the NFL allows them to).
  23. I heard this call was made and Foote is chasing his NFL dreams
  24. Peter Meijer has been pretty darn good https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2022/02/04/rnc-censure-cheney-kinzinger-shameful-whitewashing-meijer-says/6668084001/
