  1. Happy 80th Birthday to the blueprint for modern singer songwriters, men and women alike, Joni Mitchell.
  2. or the racism. Won't help me sleep tonight. I need to start figuring out how to move to Ireland sooner than I planned.
  3. We still have a year to go and remember Hillary had a sizeable "lead" in the polls, but I'm gonna have a fatal heart attack with this ****.
  4. This scares the hell out of me. I mean the Democrats DESTROYED the Republicans in Michigan in 2022. I just can't believe this ****. I mean, if he wins, democracy's done. I think Biden's doing a really good job too, but he's not shouting about it. Is that was this country has come to - you have to shout it?
  5. Obviously, a Soto trade has to come with him agreeing to a long term deal. 9 years, 350 million? What would it take to get him. 3 top young players/prospects? Putting Soto and Canha at the top with Green and Tork.........are you kidding me? Look, I know it won't happen, but let me dream a bit. I don't want Tatis. He's gonna dumb himself out of a career.
  6. Um no, he's one more bad piss test from a possible lifetime or one-year ban, isn't he? Plus, is he a locker room cancer? The Padres were MUCH better when he wasn't around. Go get Soto.
  7. Surprised that TP isn't here to complain about how lethargic the Lions week off has been and how it's coaching.
  8. Looked at the Tigers 40-man roster on their website just now. First time in, what, 16 years, that Miguel Cabrera is not on it. ♫ Good morning yesterday. You wake up, and time has slipped away ♫
  9. I am not right very often, but I was on this one. but I thought he was a Free Agent. I think this spells the end of Austin Meadows and Akil Baddoo wearing the Olde English D.
  10. Why is Corum still in the game?
  11. Well the Lions have been really really good this year. So good that a screw job by the refs wouldn't cost them a game, so they had to screw them some other way.
  12. Michigan not doing much in the 2nd half. Do you think Purdue changed their signals at halftime?
  13. Okay, maybe your first reaction is that the Beatles, I mean THE BEATLES song didn't blow you away. Now that you know that, give it another try. It is a pretty good song. It's the bridge of the song, stacking minor chords on top of each other without being morbid was a John Lennon specialty. You'll like it more upon further listens. Like a movie you didn't quite get the first time but you wind up finding something new upon further viewings (Donnie Darko comes to mind).
  14. Maryland's a tough game?
  15. The Rutles found an old tape of Ron Nasty and they are going to isolate his vocals and make a new song, a final Rutles song. The tape is of Nasty eating, but they will work around that.
  16. I work in the same building as the sports station in Ann Arbor and some of the folks there are in total denial. It's like how devout Catholics learning about what those awful priests were doing and just absolutely refusing to believe it - and smearing and attacking the victims. Same mentality at play. People follow these teams like religions. I'm a fan but not like that.
  17. Gee NCAA, I don't know. If only there was a system where a coach could relay play and signals to a QB or LB without using signs at all - you know, in real time. If only.
  18. It's a cult, man. I'm a Michigan fan too and I think they are guilty as hell and need to be punished for it. I think both OSU wins are frauds now and the only way I stop believing that is if they beat OSU this year. Harbaugh's going to the Raiders. They're gonna spend a whole bunch of money to win the press conference again. I also believe other teams do similar things, but maybe not to the degree of Michigan Stealing signs during the course of a game is fair to me. Joe Mauer standing on 2nd base stealing Tigers catcher signs - fine by me, Joe's part of the game. But this elaborate stuff going on here is just awful. I think it's a dumb rule, but it is a rule and they knew it was.
  19. This also arrived today Love it.
  20. I've been joking to some record company people and folks around the station about what the Kinks are up to.......and then today this arrives..........LOL (I know it's not 'new' but it is a new mix)
  21. What is that term.........Uncanny Valley ?
  22. I think, as far as influence goes, The Sex Pistols are right up there. Not a great band, but they sparked something 42 people showed up for a gig in Manchester, England on June 4, 1976..............half of them went out and formed bands. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/four-dozen-people-witness-the-gig-that-changed-the-world But lets be honest, they really couldn't play - they were just right place/right time. The Beatles with the quality, influence, widening what rock music could be, that was a once in a lifetime thing. And yes Black Sabbath created metal, but they didn't change music like the Beatles did. Hell, the Beatles changed society. Not even the early hip hop and rap artists had that type of immediate impact (yes, they changed society, but not immediately). So with that in mind, it's nice to hear the new song and it's yeah, just kind of there. All that's left now is Carnival Of Light and that didn't even have structure or lyrics. It's just one of those things that can never happen again.
  23. Further on this. The Beatles changed the way music was recorded with their experimentation, they changed how albums are made and released and how they were singular entities. That started with Rubber Soul. Before that, a band would go record 30 songs, the label would pick 14 or 12 and put them on a record and there was no real theme to it. Beatles changed that. Also - music videos. They were the first band to consistently do music videos (because they stopped touring). The way they changed their sound from 1963 to 1967 is pretty incredible too. Would Psychedelic Rock ever had a chance to be embraced if it wasn't for them? Nobody could have that impact again.
  24. I don't think they changed anything in such a massive way, that's all. Bowie was interesting but did he really change music in a massive way? I don't think there really can be another Beatles because they were the perfect band at the perfect time and were extremely lucky to be paired with George Martin. I think just about any other producer completely stifles them. The Beatles were dominant in the 60s and no other artist ever dominated a decade like that. The closest (and he's not close) is Prince or from a pop-culture standpoint, Madonna. Not saying those other artists weren't great, just sayin they didn't have that incredible impact. Honestly, who could?
  25. Stones just kept going because when they tried solo they didn't do very well, so they just decided to deal with each other and make a bunch of money. They're a rock band pretending to be a blues band and blues-oriented music is kind of timeless to a degree
