  1. Another problem with polling and punditry on abortion is that it tends to get framed as a binary. Pro Chioce vs Pro Life. I suspect many that lean towards the latter side are hugely put off by the lack of exceptions for women’s health, rape, incest, or even by time limits so short as to be virtually absolute bans. So many people, especially women, understand that it’s not so clearcut in the real world and that the hardliners are too zealous and vindictive. Take enough of those folks into account and you get a vote in Ohio (or Kansas or Colorado).

  2. I’m modestly hopeful that enough voters see the GOP clown show, are turned off by stringent abortion laws and other crap, plus Drumpf’s negative coattails lead to Blue wave. Perhaps not a big wave, but enough to take bake the House and have the speakership.

    Arizona was 52-110 in 2021, 74-88 in 2022, and 84-78 this season.

    Texas was 60-102 in 2021, 68-94 in 2022, and 90-72 this season.

Cabrera is off of the books and Baez will be the only significant salary around.  There are a few emerging younger players.  The pitching side seems to be a continuing positive if the can keep healthy.

Do it, Scotty.  Put a playoff roster together this offseason.

If this offseason had a broad crop of position player FAs, I would be on board with signing a few. Maybe next year? This year, get FA arms while there are solid options there, hope to add a bat if it makes sense?

  4. The further up the ranks they go, the less I would be okay with misdemeanor/probation/fines type of bargaining. The pawns can get a slap on the wrist and shame, but for Meadows, Guliani and Drumpf I want felony pleas or convictions, even if it’s deemed too dangerous to send an ex-president to jail. They deserve it though.
