  1. Well there is a clear black and white distinction to be made in their cases.
  2. It has been shown that the Russian internet operatives were sowing discord in the US electorate years ago. Using social media to do things like promote and provoke protests -even purposely scheduling two protests at the same time and place to cause a confrontation. This is the goal. Make Americans fight amongst themselves. Create chaos. Amplify minor groups bad behaviors to make them seem to be a huge threat. Don’t take the bait.
  3. This is admittedly optimistic, I’ll say 86 wins. Should be enough to take the Central.
  4. And the percentage of congress or mayors that say that is? Very small.
  5. No they haven’t. A small segment of “leftists” have, but as G2 points out assigning allegiance is complicated. Most people on all sides of the issue recognize that Hamas is terrible. Some of those also think Israel represses Palestinians and don’t like US tax dollars supplying bombs dropped on Gaza. It is possible to understand the problem Israel faces and also hope they can limit civilian casualties in fighting Hamas. There’s no easy answer and calling people names or assigning viewpoints to vaguely defined groups doesn’t do anything to fix problems. Sure, there are extremists that do defend Hamas, want to kill Biden, or other horrible things. But they are relatively few, hardly representative of the left.
  6. Or maybe being able to throw a bit harder (for fewer innings) and not facing a batter more than once is enough to elevate his effectiveness significantly. Failed starter.
  7. Jared Goff throws out the first pitch at a game, unleashing a 99mph four seamer with movement for a strike. And subsequently signs a contract with the Tigers, giving up football.
  8. I think this is an appropriate level of seriousness to apply to Eric’s “argument”:
  9. It’s nice to know I’m wanted, but at 67 it would be hard for me to get into game shape. What’s the signing bonus?
  10. In the Navarro case- Don’t do the crime, if you can’t do the time. In this particular Trump case- Don’t do the crime (x), if you can’t pay the fine. So much whiny victimhood, so little focus on the behavior that lead to the judgements. Or, FOAFO.
  11. Patrick Roy: The beatings will continue until morale improves.
  12. I’m pretty sure I have shopped at that Vons store in the video and I don’t remember seeing that woman…so it can’t be true. (I am joking to make the point that anecdotal evidence is crappy- but I have gone there).
  13. Yes, I think there is a readymade counter to any southern border issue: the Trumpublican party had bipartisan legislation it crafted-until Trump said no. Which ties in with a bigger fail-the party as now constituted does not know how to govern. Or even cares to when given the chance. All they know or care to do is stoke fear and ignore the rule of law.
  14. @smr-nj come on, let’s just call a Spade a Spade 😎
  15. I don’t know who came up with the term “tankies”, but it’s stupid. This and the Gaza thread have devolved into nuance-free polarization. And lots of exaggerated statements. Occasionally there will be a post that tries to show a balanced approach (Hamas is unquestionably horrible, but Bibi and his policies are also bad, just not as much, but can less Gazan kids starve or die, please). Casting everyone as in two camps, calling people names serves no good purpose. IMO
  16. And the whole innocence/guilt thing.
  17. He didn’t do it! okay, he did it, but you can’t indict him! okay you can indict him, but you need to answer all these delaying tactics okay, we’re down to saying the timing and degree of friendship on the prosecution team matters. —— GUILTY
  18. For all the conservatives and the trumpublicans screaming about open borders and broken systems I suggest they put their money where their month is and raise taxes to hire more people to improve the process.
