  1. Maybe I missed it, where is the story that Greene will DH for all of 2024?
  2. Hesitant as I am to prolong the Candelario debate, where are you getting the 4.4 WAR for 2023? I see lower numbers. @Tiger337 Are you extrapolating for the full year? To me, the debate of whether to keep in was related to a judgement of how well he was likely to do this year, with a range of possible outcomes. Suck/minor improvement, but still poor/medium improvement, but still mediocre/significant improvement, but some inconsistency/major improvement, great season/Awesomeness. I think based on his recent past, as well as a pattern of inconsistency, that the Tigers determined that the first sets of outcomes were more likely than the later set. He wasn’t going to either suck or be a very good player as the only two paths forward. I think a discussion of the merits of projections comes into play here. Whose projections? Degree of certainty, caveats and hedges. I now return to trying to ignore this topic…
  3. Yeah, but then you mess up and name him Bennet. At least go by Ben, or Bennie. 🤨
  4. While we have learned more since the ERod trade crashed and burned, we never actually got the black box to know fully what happened, and where blame should fall. Without that knowledge I am fine with assigning a good deal of blame to Harris, but well short of calling it his failure. Maybe it will be revealed later, should ERod opt out.
  5. It’s been brought up before that Avila had a reasonably good plan, just failed to execute much of it very well. So there were changes that took steps in the direction we now see, but lots of stumbles, or poor judgement. Trades especially.
  6. Because if they aren’t significant, they aren’t going to more the needle much.
  7. If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
  8. I am glad to see Jung show more production, but also wonder if he would be a good trade candidate, assuming he continues to show power. A trade for a good young LH catcher? Might not be enough on his own, but I also think we have enough 2Bs in the system to not miss him that much.
  9. Speaking of Dr. Ronnie Jackson, did you see he ran afoul of some sheriffs at a Texas Fair? Likely drunk, definitely profane, they took him to the ground when he wouldn’t back off from a ill fair attendee. All the best people.
  10. Sofi looks to be pretty protected. I have family in San Diego and they say it’s raining pretty steadily, but not very concerning.
  11. I remember it was a bat’s head-don’t see any denial of that! 🤨
  12. My (hazy) memory was he was teaching somewhere like Spokane or WSU, or across the border in Idaho. Maybe @IdahoBert knows more?
  13. I tend to find the use of multiple exclamation points are best reserved for something really significant.
  14. Okay, since we are doing the guitar addiction thing… got this one last week, from Japan.
  15. Glad to see things are back on track with IG posts after the detours. 😎
  16. Now that I see the other thread has been started, maybe my post would go there?
  17. If Vierling can play 3B (too early to say), and if Keith can field 2B adequately (another IF that the answer is currently unclear about), I think some of those holes could be filled. In my brief ☹️ look at the Dodgers prospects, they have two catchers almost ready. If we had acquired Dalton Rushing it would have been great to ease him in with Rodgers. Maybe they can pursue Rushing in the off-season. Not sure what that would take. Agree that Baddoo is being passed by Meadows.
  18. That was what my post above was about. Getting it wrong in criticism of Drumpf just makes it easier for the MAGAs to dismiss all criticism as fake news.
  19. I listened to the clip and did not hear Drumpf say the word “to”. Which changes the meaning entirely.
  20. The photographer told him to switch to that to fit the layout. Damn graphic designers (my ex-career)!
