  1. So Debrincat and the Wings are aligned on a new contract? It’s just a case of Ottawa wanting more than the Wings are willing to give up? They want our first round one pick next year and a decent player or two, and the Wings are offering pick #29 and maybe a lesser player?
  2. Sorry, Pence strikes me as very untrustworthy. Preaches all the bible stuff but signs on for the Trump ticket- twice! He seems like a guy you figured out a path for attention, fame, and yes, fortune by pretending to be that calm moral compass for people to gravitate too. **** him.
  3. Glad to see the D came through and held them to three field goals, while the O found the end zone twice. 🏈
  4. My question might have been worded differently, such as: Is Lange less effective now because of having to use him more (consecutive days/multiple innings) to preserve thin margin/lack of depth? I have been impressed with how the BP has managed the last year and a half, but arms do get worn down and injury is always lurking.
  5. Patch up the roster with an emphasis on size and toughness with short-term FAs while the next wave in the minors matures?
  6. Following up on Shinzaki’s mention of Lindstrom needing to bulk up on muscle, I hope that applies to a number of the youngsters- Edvinson and Soderblom are too slight of build to fully use their size. Ras to some extent too, but he did improve on his toughness level.
  7. It worked. 👍 I’m not keen on the players so far, aside from Kostin and much of the draft. Debrincat could change that appraisal, and/or other signings.
  8. Saving up for Debrincat, duh! jk, I think they just wanted Kostin, didn’t value Yamamoto enough to keep and whether that budget goes to Kostin, Debrincat or someone else is all part of the Yzerplan.
  9. Must be due to his spot-on raking advice after the Cali fires. Tremendously qualified. People are saying…
  10. Yeah, and the old protocol was working so well 😎
  11. Well, you’re an autumn, there’s only so much you can do.
  12. Or college arm abuse…paging Kenny Baugh…
  13. I would have been okay with resigning Candelario, but as the projections you mentioned noted, his 2022 season was poor. That, and his general inconsistency through the years was why I was also okay with them not retaining (just wanted a solid replacement). I would not say the inconsistency and poor 2022 performance were “all signs point to a bounce back”. Some signs, some counter signs, IMO.
  14. Could you point out “All the signs that pointed to a bounce back that were right there”?
  15. I think Yzerman is smart enough to not overbid, which I think would be the case of offering both first round picks (+) for Debrincat. Start with an offer of the 17 plus a player, be ready to add one second round pick, or substitute the player to a slightly better one, but don’t bid against yourself. Not every team that would like Debrincat is in a position to do so cap-wise. Or at least without significant hassles.
  16. Not Russian territory, not a Russian nuclear plant, and not Russian people. Other than that, the meme is spot on. Posting crap that bolsters the war criminal invaders propaganda, what a pathetic waste.
  17. Was an actual planned move mentioned? As in, we’ll have him in LF for a month or more… or are they thinking of him as a 3B, and want him to keep whatever LF skills he has from slipping? I can see value in letting a young player focus for extended periods at one position as a development goal, rather than the chess pieces idea. At least in the minors.
  18. Agreed that being buyers this year is unlikely and probably not a good idea. That said, I have been imaging what the roster could be like next year. Keep the ones that have shown they belong this year, drop a bunch of payroll and use it for some solid players to add. Plus the pitchers that should be back to health, hopefully. McKinstry Greene Tork Carpenter New FA Malloy or Keith Baez Rogers/Haase Baddoo i could see that being a reasonably good offense.
  19. I suspect any trade value for Schoop is dependent on another team’s injury situation. A contending team could ante up something minor to get them through a stretch while their regular players are on the DL (60 day?).
