The reports I read were that the Aldean video was shot in front of a courthouse where an infamous lynching of a black happened. I feel strongly that anyone filming a video in that setting with themes that portray mobs, violence and “try that..” has to be either a grossly insensitive/ignorant person, or a racist. Maybe both. Leaving out the setting, just taking the words into account is BS in my opinion.

I know a solid LH C won’t come cheap.

Are there any solid LH catchers available as FAs or through trade? That seems an area for improvement with Rodgers/new guy. 60/40? 50/50?

But Kane is a badass, just ask the cabbies in Buffalo. 🤐

I used to work for a small company owned by a guy named Tyson Steele. He was well over six feet tall, but his real last name was Short, so he had his name changed to Steele. Did I mention this was a marketing company? And then one of the local TV stations was cycling through anchors as they do in this smaller market-and some other dude came on the air -Ty Steele!

I think it’s whether Meadows would be our CF of the future. If so, add the thump with Langford in RF. Maybe something else? @SoCalTiger I have a wish that we could field a really fast OF of Greene/Clark/Meadows -tracking down balls, but that may never happen.

I guess some of this is due to the vagueness of a simple ranking. There isn’t any way to discern the gaps between players. No tiers. I would put Clark and Keith in one tier and the rest in another. Plus the whole floor/ceiling thing and how close/injury possibility. Time to get back to playing the games and see how it all turns out. ⚾

I am not sold on Jung that high in the rankings, and also am a bit more optimistic about PMeadows. Each has short term successful periods, I think Meadows positional value is much greater. What do the rest of you think about that?

Skubal was only still there in the ninth due to injury. He was rated much higher on talent. Kudos to Avila for getting both.

They are a terrible weapon, no doubt. The DoD spokesperson I heard mentioned that the specific type we are giving them has what is considered an acceptable rate of munitions that fail to explode (it was 2.x%) on impact. As opposed to some that have been used (by others?) with as high as 40%. I shudder to think of the unlucky ones that find one the 2% and how they won’t think it an acceptable level. But I also want the Russian war crimes to be end. War is hell.

I know it’s easy to forget about A Meadows and the timing of the trade with the Rays, but the theory would have been us getting a solid OF when we had a need. Not saying the appraisal of Paredes wasn’t flawed, just that there was an expected value in return.

Good to see Kasper skating-my memory is foggy, but I thought his injury sounded pretty serious at the time.

I agree, since baseball doesn’t have a true salary cap, the difference in cost is not much of a concern to me. Long term I could see it causing a team salary to bump up against some management budget (likely hidden from our view). But if the team is good, the player in question is good, pay the man.

Do you think the rest of us enjoy the poor state of the team? Venting is fine. The same rants over and over don’t do much for me.
