Nothing between 61 and 165 does make me sad though...

Nothing yet.  Anything is possible when players Brad loves start to drop into great value range.

I'm not sure it could have gone any better for the Lions yesterday. Having every defensive player drop like that? I sincerely believe that Arnold was the top defensive player on their board too. That's not to say he's as high as Witherspoon was for them last year, but I think he's an instant upgrade over Amik Robertson, and probably an upgrade over Cam Sutton too.

Agree.  I loved the fit with Arnold but he wasn’t really on my radar.  I figured they’d need to trade up into the early teens.  I didnt think Brad would give up the mint it would’ve taken from to move there from 29.

  3. The big blue wave begins today.  How many Michigan players will get drafted? After JJ yesterday,  they need 15 more to tie the record of Georgia in 2022.

Also interested to see how many get taken by the Chargers.

If every team takes 10 minutes, the Lions will be picking after midnight?

I was thinking that earlier.  Could be a late and very cold evening.

Holmes has earned my 100% complete trust.  If he trades back, great. Trades up, great.  He is playing chess, while most GM’s are playing checkers.  Looking back at his previous drafts here, how can anyone (especially us tortured Lions fans) question the man?

I wish Lions fans would sit back this weekend and enjoy the ride.  Seeing as how this organization has never been in a position like this, you’d think they would believe in Holmes more than a hack like Mel Kiper.  Sadly, no matter who they pick, no matter how much a draft class like last year should shut them up, a bunch of clowns will get online and complain. I know this will happen and yet it pisses me off anyway.

    Welcome Back.

  6. Cooper Dejean has long seemed like an ideal Brad Holmes Lions pick.  He checks off all the boxes.

If he’s still there in the early 20’s, I can very well see him jumping up in front of Green Bay to ensure they don’t lose him to a division rival.

  7. One of the challenges they are going to face is a surplus of NHL ready young defenseman. This isn’t an issue when you are still in full rebuild mode but you can’t expect to compete for the playoffs with 4 young defenseman.  You also can’t expect them to learn the nuance of playing proper defense in the NHL by watching each other and listening to coaches.  They need to be paired with a veteran.   This is where they are going to have to keep an extra vet around even though the kids are better players and a bigger part of the future.

  8. It’s not out of the realm for Brad.  He learned at the Rams that once you reach a certain talent level the 1’s aren’t as essential.  It’s more important to hit on the 3rd and 4th rounders.   The Lions are at this point on their roster.

Kinda reads like he's coming back but is also pretty ambiguous...not sure what to make of it after his press conference at the end of the season

He’s not coming back.   He played this year to show the league that he could come back from a difficult injury at his age and still be productive.    He did just that and will now have his pick of cup contenders to choose from.   Maybe even someone like a Buffalo, who’s not a cup contender but is dumb enough to overpay and term for him.   Stevie is too smart do that.

I really liked Ten, Vs, and Vitalogy.  Yield is probably the only album I liked for a stretch after that.  Lightening Bolt drew me back in.  I really, really liked Gigaton.  I like Dark Matter.

Sounds about the same for me, although I'll defend the No Code album until the day I die.

Yield is my favorite followed closely by No Code and Avocado.

End of the day though, this is a live band and the studio albums don’t do them justice.  They’ve done a great job of making their bootlegs accessible.   It’s nice to see them back out on the road more regularly.  The shows last 9 years have been so sparse that it’s been hard to justify their place among the greatest touring bands.   I’m sure they will do that again this summer.

@ewsieg find a copy of 10/17/14 - Moline, IL.   You will love it.

Edit: it’s on YouTube with video but won’t let me link to if from here.
