Also being against antisemitism right up to the point where it requires real world (TM Hongbit) action is pretty awesome.  Admitting it proudly is even more awesome.

You don’t have to go to a student protest in Ann Arbor to be against antisemitism.   That’s a dumb ass take.

  2. This is such a random tangent that you’ve gone out on @pfife

This is a site where people post links and opinions.  That’s the purpose of this place.  You don’t have to back up your posts by going out into the real world and supporting them.

Apparently there's issues with his work ethic and that he's not a willing tackler. If true and it's a big IF because draft rumors are usually grains of salt, there's zero chance that he's on the Lions board at all. Holmes is unpredictable in terms of his draft board vs. the consensus and trade ups/downs but in terms of the type of player he likes, he's very predictable. If the player doesn't love and breathe football and doesn't have the necessary grit, he will not be taken by the Detroit Lions.

Are there any other sources on this outside of Charlie Campbell from Walterfootball?

1-1/2 episodes into 3 Body Problem....and gotta say this is my kind of series.  Really enjoying all the possibilities.

The show is good but I ended up a bit disappointed.  It didn’t sustain the incredible momentum it built in the first 3 episodes.

  5. The video made a comment about the black and blue division being an inspiration for the uniform.  That would be awesome if they would start the tradition of wearing the blacks only for home division games.

    Those aren't dots.

That's a mesh jersey. Those are all the mesh holes.

Dude, stop micro dosing ketamine and shrooms!

Or is it Meth... which has you confused...?

Mesh authentics?  I’ve never heard of anything like that.  I’d expect mesh for the $39.99 Wal-Mart version but definitely not on the gamers.

  7. What’s with the little dots in all the  numbers?

Who thought of that and why didn’t anyone step up and tell them no and to also stop micro dosing ketamine and shrooms.

  8. What a financial win for the Lions to tie in brand new merch at the same time when their popularity has reached an all-time high.   They are gonna sell a s-ton of everything.

  9. I think they stay at 29 and take Kool-Aid McKinstry.    They play a ton of man coverage and he’s the best man corner in the draft.  They have also shown to really like drafting players from Alabama.    It almost seems too obvious which is why it will probably end up being one of the IOL.

Sadly, their record shows the rebuilding is not done and they are not ready to compete. I don’t think they will be ready to compete until/unless Edvinsson, ASP, and one other defensive prospect are ready, until Danielson and Kasper are ready, and until Cossa or Augustine is ready.

Next year they will be treading water. Hopefully a full season of Edvinsson amounts to an improvement over the minutes that have been logged by a mediocre defenseman.

Since they will be on the fence again next year, I doubt Lalonde will get fired but suspect there will be at least one change behind the bench.

Nobody is talking about being a cup contender.  I’m taking about the expectation of making the playoffs or fighting close for it almost every year.   They competed this year with their top point scorer missing 14 games   No reason they shouldn’t be expected to do it again next year.

They are not a young team and yet nobody provided “veteran leadership” when Larkin was down. That’s what you’re supposed to do when you’re signed to a multi-year big money contract.

Also, they signed these responsible two-way centers but the team still can’t keep the puck out of the net.

Lalonde seems to be a replacement-level coach. Based on where the team is I don’t think it is the right time for a change there but I hope he shuffles his staff.

There is something said for needing continuity but the rebuilding is done and they are ready to compete.   Since I don’t think he will ever be the right guy, my ideal time to fire him is right now.

Shai Buium has signed a three year entry level deal beginning next year...reporting to the Griffs on a PTO.

Just like Carter Mazur, another Denver product that won an NCAA championship playing for David Carle.

  13. The biggest change needs to be behind the bench.  Lalonde just doesn’t have it.  He’s not the guy.  I think Blashill may have been better and that’s frightening.

I’d be interested in Craig Berube but that probably means they work something out for Perron to stay and that in itself is not something anyone should want.  He’s an ok piece on a cup contender but he’s done as someone you count on as a top 6 forward every night.     They are already saddled with vets in Compher and Kopp that have underachieved and need to provide more.  No need to keep collecting more guys like these.

Two years ago, they looked at David Carle from DU and chose Lalonde.   He’s going to be an NHL coach this offseason.   I don’t know if he’s necessarily the route to go either but very intriguing.

Goalie is tricky thing in the NHL.  It’s an easier job predicting the weather in Michigan than figuring out who’s capable of having a breakout season.  I think they can ride with who they have for the moment.  Cossa needs to play though and if he’s moving East then he’s got to get at least half the starts.   Can’t just bring him up to play once every 5 games.

  14. A great color guy should pick their spots to say something insightful and not be afraid to stay quiet if the situation warrants it.    Jim Price did this really well.   While Dan Petry and CMO are some of the worst offenders.
