  1. Haven't we learned our lesson with Greene and Torkelson? We bring up these guys when they are too young and not ready, to play on a mediocre team and burn through their years of control. Why? Yes they have had some individual success but also a lot of struggles. I think Harris has the right approach by not calling up players who are not ready. Counting on rookies is probably not a winning strategy. It's going to take time for all of our position players to develop. It will probably take a few years for some of them to establish themselves and some of them are just not going to make it.
  2. Half those guys have previous MLB success which proves how hard the game is even with multiple years of experience. Counting on guys with zero experience is a gamble. We don't even know if Carpenter is for real or not. There's a ton of question marks on this team and adding more questions does not turn them into a contender.
  3. You don't know what type of players they will be. Nobody does. Counting on all of our prospects being successful is not a winning strategy.
  4. They should just send him back to us.
  5. No offense to CMo and Gibby, great players, great people but I've had enough of their color commentary. Personally, I do like Petry and if they wanted to somehow combine the tv and radio broadcasts, I'd be fine with that.
  6. If they are bringing CMo back there was no point getting rid of Shep. They could bring in the best PBP guy in the world but the rest of them are going to drag the broadcast down. Either elevate your whole game or don't bother. It's like firing the manager and expecting the mediocre team to improve.
  7. I hope all the teams lose.
  8. What's happening with Bally? Are they going out of business or what? Are they stuck in a contract with Bally or could they revamp the whole broadcast?
  9. I wonder if George Lombard will be interviewing for manager positions. A few have opened up already.
  10. What the heck happened to Carpenter? It went from dude might hit 40 homers in a full season to Chris Shelton?
  11. I hate the idea of investing so much into one player again. He gets injured or declines or underperforms and then what? Then we suck again for multiple years. Build a good balanced team with pitching, defense and hitting. We need a solid 40 man roster, not one superstar.
  12. No more playing for draft picks. Second place and hungry for more!
  13. Spennnn-cer TOR kel SON! It's just not the same.
  14. Miggy's kids introduced him.
  15. Thanks for the memories Miggy!
  16. Today's game is free to watch on MLB.tv for people in Michigan.
  17. Let's hope our new front office is better at evaluating talent than the previous front office or a bunch of morans on a message board.
  18. With Fulmer, Norris and Boyd we should be set for years to come.
  19. Joker from his dad and skills from his mom.
  20. If they don't make many changes, there are a lot of question marks going into next year. Projecting their win total could be anywhere from 50 to 90. These guys are young. They don't have much of a track record. Nobody knows what they are going to do. Nobody knows what a pitcher from Korea is going to do. If they stick with the youth movement, we can't expect much for a few years at least. Maybe everything clicks, but with that many questions we're probably not going to like some of the answers. Expecting them to add a couple guys and then we win the Central is just not realistic. Much less compete with the top teams in the playoffs. Other teams in the Central can improve their rosters as well. They won't just roll over because the Tigers sign a big free agent pitcher. 2024 is probably not the year of the Tiger but if they keep adding/developing/improving talent, soon they can be competitive again.
