    wasn't just him.

well, its a detroit message board.  ya gonna get some home town takes!

the lions have a decent d line, a good o line (when theyre healthy), good running backs and a good tight end.  thats it.

worst back 7 in football.  worst receivers in football.  bad qb.

Literally they did. Tp for one. And you were one that kept saying how they were gonna be better.

you know tp is just schtick, right?  its his thing.

the lions had the worst secondary in football coming into the season and then lost two of their top three corners.  undrafted journeyman bobby price is trying to cover robinson and mooney!

That was too easy. And TBF, physically these teams were a lot closer than the score; it was turnovers that took Wisconsin out of the game. And that's fair enough - you are not a good team if you turn the ball over a lot. But M shouldn't get to pleased with itself either just because Wisconsin didn't take care of the football.

you just wont be happy unless they are beating teams 60-0.

they're 5-0 and beat wisconsin on the road.  after the last few years, just enjoy it for a week or so.

MICHIGAN went for it on 4th down FIVE TIMES!!!!  in their own end of the field!!!  MICHIGAN!  Look, you and i are both old and we both know what an amazing shift of mentality that is for the schembechler coaching tree.  they look much more organized this year, on offense and defense.  no more rushing to the line, no more huddling, no more wasting possession time.

theyre playing a pro style defense that can actually beat the spread offenses they face.  no more 4-3 with a thumper covering slot receivers.  no more insisting on press coverage with slow cornerbacks.

are they good enough to beat ohio state?  nope.  but neither is anyone else in the big ten unless ohio state makes a ton of mistakes and turns the ball over.

are they good enough to beat anyone else on their schedule?  yes.  did you watch penn state luck into beating wisconsin?  wisconsin out gained them, had an almost 30 minute top advantage, and only lost because they couldnt score a td and turned the ball over 3 times.  michigan outplayed wisconsin and looked much better than penn state.

now watch them go out and lose to nebraska...

  4. i thought they looked much more organized, especially on the power play.  and that's without bertuzzi being a menace in front of the net.

seider looked composed, made a few mistakes but that's ok.  leddy made a lot of mistakes, but also made some good plays and kept things moving on the power play.  found larkin open for one of his goals.  larkin looked good too.

granted its the preseason and its columbus, but weve seen the wings get outplayed very badly in the preseason before.  not this year so far.

Nebraska may not be a pushover. Avoid the letdown. Has played Oklahoma and MSU close the past 2 weeks and is annihilating Northwestern tonight.

nebraska isnt bad.  theyre better than msu.  sparty got lucky in that game.  northwestern is awful.  worst team in the big ten.

I guess I don't follow why it's not a good thing to be strong on both sides of the O-Line. It's not like the opposition is going to promise to always blitz or line up their best DE over our LT.

because sewell was terrible at rt in the preseason but has been really good at lt.

  7. trading hockenson is the stupid click baity thing valenti would say.  of course you dont trade hockenson.

decker you might trade for a laremy tunsil type haul.  especially if its to a desperate team that has delusions of contending but is really not that good (looking at you pittsburgh) or a desperate team and front office trying to save their jobs with multiple picks to burn (i see you new york giants...)

I dont think the Bengals are terrible.   I think they'd probably do well in the NFC North or NFC East, but they are in one of the toughest divisions in football.   Not saying they are great either and they have very little depth, so they need to stay injury-free, but not a terrible team anymore - they are moving up.

The Steelers, on the other hand, Ben Rapelisberger, oh sorry, did I say that, Roethlisberger is done, he was done two years ago and the Steelers keep shooting themselves in the foot by not moving on from him.    Seems very odd for them too, they usually don't hang onto guys like that.   Mason Rudolph?  Maybe Dwayne Haskins can resurrect his career, but I haven't heard anything about him.   They have to be one of the teams looking for a QB in the '22 draft.

If I was ranking teams, I would have the Jets, Jags and Giants lower than the Lions and that's it.   I think the Bears are better, but could certainly be beaten.  The Lions aren't going 0-17.   I think they'll win 3, maybe 4.    That's fine.  Trade any player that can net you draft picks in the first 3 rounds except Sewell.   Turn it into an expansion team.   Better than what Quintricia left us.

the bengals got beat by the bears and looked terrible doing it.  they just needed a last second field goal to beat the jags....at home.

the bengals are not a good football team.  the lions - also not a good football team - can beat them.

What's really annoying is that they completely block the screen for 2 minutes with a banner showing who scored, and then who assisted, and then they talk about the goal... BLOCKING the actual live action...! WTF? Stecher scored and we couldn't see anything in the minute leading up to the goal, not the play out of our zone, not the passing, the score... nothing. The replay showed Stecher moving in on the goal and somehow scoring with 4 bodies flopping all over the ice and the goalie, and he somehow threaded it through for a score. But we saw nothing else leading up to that goal. They were talking about Raymond's goal...

But having a banner blocking the action, and yapping about the prior goal, as one is CURRENTLY BEING SCORED... way beyond annoying.

    the video production is terrible.
