Goalie Jan Bednar had a decent season in Toledo (.901 sv%) and is playing really well in the playoffs . He's 4-0 with a 2.20 GAA and a .925 sv%
I was quite surprised he got a pro contract but he seems to be showing whatever the team saw in him!

I chuckled, but I like Tim Robinson
Agreed, it felt like a small episode of Detroiters

Beautiful shot by Kasper for the GWG
Beautiful saucer pass by Kasper to set up the goal
Mazur with his best Hyman impression

which raises a question: Is Elmer still on the radar or is the view that he has plateaued short of the NHL?
13 minutes ago, buddha said:i saw a guy who is going to need to increase the aggressiveness and physicality a lot if he wants to succeed in the nhl. and he hasnt exactly torn up the ahl either.
he's so big and has skilled hands. he should be tomas holmstrom. parked in front of the net and digging in corners. like ras was when he was actually trying/not injured.
but he doesnt. he floats through games. unless he wants to get dirty and physical, he'll be back in sweden in a year or two.
I think buddha is right on the money but I also will say there is a slight chance he will improve as he gets older and more comfortable in his body. He's 22, at this age Tage Thompson (2 inches shorter than Elmer) played 1 NHL game and at age 23 Tage put up 14 points in 38 NHL games. These large kids take a little bit longer to develop, and Elmer has really soft hands for his size, but I do worry about his lack of edge / intensity.

I honestly thought he'd become the highest paid QB for a bit so this is nice 😂

The Winterhawks seem overwhelmed as a team against Moose Jaw.
Nice to see Nate was only a -1 in the loss at least

Nedeljkovic really cannot find any sort of consistency can he, oof

Trey is currently working the third period of US' tune up game

Winterhawks move on to the Finals as well

I imagine he's still playing in the SHL next season but still very cool
Grand Rapids also won their first playoff series.

So here’s the thing about Marner. He’s a good player, but even if you can get him to waive his NMC, how could you trade him without retaining salary. Let’s say the Leafs say, ok, we want to trade him as a salary dump to sign someone else in his place. But who would actually give up significant assets to acquire him? If he was a free agent with no assets required to be given up, would anyone sign up for $11mm per?
New Utah owner might want to make a splash to make some noise for their first season, otherwise it is going to be tough I imagine but who knows.

I see Marner getting his rightful blame but man Samsonov parking his ass on the goalline and watching the puck squirt into the slot with Rielly looking on too....a lot of blame to go around on that goal woof.
What a thing for him to say, even if you're thinking it keep it to yourself because uh.... isn't that on you? I can't believe some team is going to probably hire this fool right away.

Not sure how Petry got the call but hopefully he’s last on the depth chart.
I think he's gone to the World's a bunch in the past and most of the countries respect that because not a ton of NHL players usually like to go. Plus the next oldest defenseman to him is Seth Jones who doesn't really strike me as a leader type so Petry brings that "veteran presence" to a young group. I was shocked to see him there though, I figured he'd want the time off anyways.

Odd that they had Larkin going now all of a sudden he's injured. I wonder what happened.

I even saw someone on Twitter pointing to an awkward play involving Matthews in that final Saturday night game vs the Wings.
Ya I've seen speculation that he got a minor concussion from one of their last games but haven't seen any plays at all. It seems like there is something going on outside the sickness

Actually it looks like his ankle/knee gets realllllllly torqued here

Bringing Danielson to the Wings without a year at GR would be a first for SY, but there's a first time for everything!
Lucas Raymond never played in the AHL

I'm trading Berggren, putting Danielson either on wing or center on line 3 personally. Don't re-sign Kane, don't re-sign Veleno, give Perron a 1 year deal. I would be fine giving Fischer a 1 year deal. For Kasper, I wouldn't mind trying him as 1C in Grand Rapids to start the season and see how he does. Him and Mazur can come up for a taste during the season and if they play well find a way to keep them.
I wouldn't mind a Husso buyout too, not sure where they go with Lyon's partner but it frees up some cash.

It would be so great if he comes to camp next year and wins a job.
I'm expecting it honestly

Not sure you can sit out an elimination game because you are sick and still be considered a generational player.
My guess is he has a concussion or whiplash from a play in game 3 honestly, at this point I doubt it is just a sickness.
