It's such a shame. There is no need for any of this at all. The country was doing fine. There are always problems, but there was nothing happening in the US that required any radical change in the foundation of the country. We really screwed things up for no reason.
Not really sure what plans to make. Are you talking about leaving the country? That's hard to do if you are not wealthy. Another problem there is that we are dragging every developed country in the world into this and many countries in Europe are having trouble as is. There aren't going to be a lot of places to turn anymore. Can't even think about Canada anymore!
I think some people might want to see that, but how many will actually want to get involved in the violence themselves?
Anyway, I think you are right that the hook will be violence A smaller protest broken up by a police or military shooting might be the hook for wider protests.
According to this, if 3.5% of the population peacefully protests something, change will inevitably happen.
That is roughly 11 million Americans protesting together at the same time. You'd need a tangible hook to get them together and it needs to stay peaceful which is no easy task. It's not out of the question though. What's the hook going to be? And what would be the best timing?

It doesn't matter when it originated. It's still a huge conflict of interest (to put it mildly) to have someone who is receiving more money than anyone overseeing the funding by the entire govt.
I don't think many are salivating over Arenado either. He is already in deep decline and has three years left at 30 million. I would think that acquiring him would be more about taking on salary than giving up players of value.
I don't know, but Hegseth seems to be an idiot. In his first term, your president made some respectable military hires. This time, his whole cabinet seems to be clowns. It's almost like he is deliberately hiring unqualified people.
My father left me a helmet he took from a German soldier killed in WWII. It has a swastika on it. He never displayed it publicly. He showed it to us but never put it on display anywhere in the house or elsewhere. I will never display it either. He was very bothered by any swastika displays he saw anywhere.
The difference between his contract and other big contracts is the fans aren't going to get stuck watching him be useless at aages 35,36, 37. I hope there are more contracts like this in baseball.
They can contend in the Central Division. According to FanGraphs, these are the projected wins:
Minnesota 83
Detroit 82
Kansas City 81
Cleveland 77
Chicago 63
I don't know why they didn't appear to have interest in Chapman. He was my #1 target. Perhaps, it was easier to convince ownership to get involved this year after making the playoffs last year.
I would also rather they develop hitters. Pitchers are fragile and thus it's difficult to build a foundation centering around pitching. There is always going to be a need for pitchers whereas I think you can build a position player foundation which lasts for a few years.
I am glad the Tigers apparently made a solid offer to Bregman. It gives me hope that they won't be shy whe the right players are available. As for hitters not wanting to come to Detroit, the flip side is they were able to sign Flaherty probably because Deroit is is a favorable environment for pitchers for multiple reasons.
