I didn't say it was a crapshoot. Clark has a much better chance of succeeding than Workman or Jung or Hao Yu Lee. It's silly to even talk about that. However, I don't expect him to contribute much in the near future and there is no guarantee of future stardom, much like Torkelson, Greene and Mize when they were coming up. MLB is hard. I think it's unlikely that he becomes a below replacement bust too. In fact, my expectations are close to the ones you mentioned. The range of possible outcomes is wide though. Don't forget Jobe was universally regarded as one of the top couple of pitching prospects as recently as last year. So, he's not a lot different from Clark in that respect. How do you view Olson and Jobe? -
I think Charlie Morton is still available.

No, I regard them similarly to how I regard Max Clark. I am still very hopeful and will be excited to see them when they are back. -

Surprisingly, that is true about the pitching, but I was expecting them to improve significantly with Valdez and a full year of Melton. I am not disappointed with the hitting. I was not expecting it to be a strength and it's pretty much what I thought it would be. Their fielding has been a disaster and I think the impact of injuries to Meadows and Baez have been understated. -

I didn't know anything about Olson that anyone else didn't know. I have just come to the conclusuion that pitchers with long-term injuries can not be counted on. I am not assuming that Olson and Jobe are done for their careers. I just am not counting on them. I am hopeful that Olson will some day return to form. And really, Jobe has never proven anything at the MLB level. He is still a good prospect. -

I have Stathead and FanGraphs subscriptions and that is it. FanGraphs also is mostly unusable now without a subscription. Pretty much any major news or sports site is really hard to use now without a subscription. This was inevitable, but I miss the old internet. I don't subscribe to read opinions and propaganda which is what news has become -

I expected nothing from Olson and Jobe this year. Once a pitcher gets seriously hurt, I expect nothing from them him until they get back. Players that get injured in previous years are not baked into my preseason expectations. -

Melton and Mize are injured. Valdez is having his usual meltdown games at the wrong time. Flaherty can't get the ball over the plate. I don't know why. They didn't win the reliever lottery this year. Their defense is bad and the the injuries to Baez and Meadows have made it worse. -
I agree it wasn't a big deal. It's not like it was the Obama family or something.

If I recall correctly, 2024 was just as bad with injuries. Plus, they traded away any remaining pitcher that was good. -
It's good to see Buddha bringing a balanced perspective to the political forum.

When is enough enough in regards to uniforms?
Tiger337 replied to Zakk_Wylde's topic in Detroit Tigers
Unique uniforms which help define a team's identity are OK. Different uniforms every night not so much. -
He also said he wanted to go back to the 50s. I guess it depends on which wealthy person he talked to most recently.

Wait until you get into your 60s! -
Ugliest guy in the league.

I disagree with last part. He will never let America see him in a wheelchair or with grey hair. He will never want to look weak. He will never be taken down anyway. Too many dangerous people love the guy.

I don't know if he's even there. It wouldn't be hard for someone to type that stuff on their own. Even then, he has to own it. .
-
I think him typing crazy posts in the middle of the night would be even stranger than hiring someone to do it, but either way it's incredibly stupid and he has to own it.

I really doubt he posted those. Someone else does it for him.

I am enraged by Trump. I am not enraged by Chas's line of logic.

I don't think the goal has been so much to shorten the game as it is to speed the game up. The pitch clock, which I think has made the game better, would still be effect. If the added hits, increase the length of the gsame by a few minutes without slowing down the game, I don't think that would be a problem.

I am not enraged. I am just not impressed by anything he does. He is competent at bull**** and self promotion and manipulating people, especially ignorant and weak people.

I think they are mutually exclusive states by definition, altough they he could know what he's doing sometimes and be unhinged at other times. I think he knows what he is a doing at a general level, but gets frustrated by strategic details and has hissy fits when things don't go according to his plan. At any rate, he has always come acros as a very unimpressive person to me and it makes me sad/frustrated to see the entire country revolving around his shallow immature whims.
