Our DBs are almost exclusively young:
Walker is the old man at 27. Harris 26, Jacobs 24, Melifonwu 23, Okudah 23, Oruwariye 26, Price 24. They need a safety and a LB. But the young part doesnt line up.
The issue is you are made to look a fool much more often when you make a bad trade. It’s in your face. It’s remembered by the fan base. You don’t trade with a division rival unless they absolutely make a mistake and you fleece them. That’s what happened tonight. The Vikings rookie GM is off to a rough start per the fan base. Compare that to Holmes, who the Detroit fan base loves. And that matters.
That’s the interesting part of a new GM. The new Vikings guy has been a VP with the browns since 2017, niners before that. He has no recent animous with the lions. He probably didn’t view trading within the division as we do, an outright sin unless you fleece the opponent. Today the lions won a really good trade. Vikings wanted to move up a few slots in the 2nd and get an extra 3rd. Lions went dynamic.
