That's the biggest challenge of winter... although I have to admit the dark makes it easier for me to go to sleep.

This is a tough one for me to say, since in general I support street performers/buskers, BUT only if they have talent, and only if they show consideration for people who might need to work and/or sleep. Example: there are some very talented bucket drummers out there, who vary their routines and have become part of the tourist scene. That said, there's a lot more to drumming than randomly banging on buckets, pots, and pans. I remember leaving the Garden after a Bob Seger concert (one of my all time favorites), and there was a bucket drummer there. Umm, I want to keep the songs of the concert I just got out of in my head (a 'fine memory'), not some random bucket drummer.

I have mixed feelings on sharing tweets from people like MTG.... On the one hand, I agree with people who say "Stop making stupid people famous," and am sick of the media giving "certain" politicians a lot of press because of the controversy they cause. On the other hand... people unfortunately do follow these people, and even more unfortunately actually will vote for them, and I'm a firm believer in knowing what 'the enemy' is up to.

Once I take my LATG exam, and once daylight only lasts from about 8 am-4 pm, I'm going to need books to read. I especially like historical (recent reads include The Warmth of Other Suns and Caste: The Origin of Our Discontent), and mysteries. Bonus points for anybody who can recommend a historical fiction mystery that also features cats! Thanks in advance!

Oh, that all sounds so familiar! Between construction, repairs, and utility work downtown Boston feels like the combination of a maze and an obstacle course. Good times...

That, or another drug. There's a methadone clinic down the street from me and he definitely bears a strong resemblance to the patients I see. Only difference is the patients I've met are far nicer than he seems.

There appears to be a law that whenever my manager tries to take a vacation, everything at the facility breaks at the same time. Sigh...

So, earlier today I signed all of the papers to close on a condo. I've been keeping it mostly quiet because finding a home in my price range in this city (especially downtown) is akin to finding a unicorn anyplace but in a fantasy novel, and the process dragged on and on. It's the first home I've ever owned, and for the first time in my adult life I'll have a proper bedroom. Better late than never! 🙂

I haven't tried that one, but it feels like channels are taking turns pixelating on my tv... seems to be a problem Xfinity has been having in general lately. I'm moving soon, and the new place only has Fios available... maybe that's not such a bad thing after all. It'll be fun to compare the problems of each provider, at least.

It would have to be one that has sufficient charisma to overcome it, or as MTU suggested, one that lives in a district that is purple, rather than red.

Does the money actually go into his campaign? I've heard before that some donations go into a general fund... I've thought about it, even though I am reluctant to donate to a candidate in a state I don't live in.

For New England, I'd say either CT or RI would be better choices for the first one... they're more diverse than NH and not as Blue as MA. (although MA, even with its Dem supermajority, still failed to challenge our outgoing governor on many issues, most notably our increasingly embarrassing transit failures, so there's that)

Is that Tiffany? He has never seemed to particularly care about her. I can't decide if that's better or worse for her, TBH. LOL at his thinking the world is unfair to him-he was given advantages that the vast majority of people don't have.

That's what I've never understood. Businesses are smart to not advertise if they think the association will hurt their sales. Also it seems like some people think free speech means nobody has the right to challenge them.
