  1. Reports of major Ukraine offensive near orikhiv. Pictures of new destroyed Bradleys and tanks on telegram.
Apparently Ukraine committing a Western trained and armed brigade. No major breakthrough being reported. Marginal gains of meters according to Ukraine sources. Russians sources stating all their positions held.

More western provided materials seen on way to the front there.

Even if there is a breakthrough here, and so far there hasn’t. Ukraine would have to deal with main Russian line north of Tomak.

  2. Uh-oh. Hunters plea deal is rejected by the judge.

But Judge Maryellen Noreika did not accept the plea agreement, questioning the constitutionality--specifically the diversion clause and the immunity Hunter Biden would receive.

The judge pressed federal prosecutors on the investigation and questioned whether there was the possibility for future charges, and asked prosecutors if Hunter Biden was currently under active investigation. Prosecutors said he was, but would not answer specifically

  3. WSJ: The West Knew Ukraine Wasn't Prepared For Counter-Offensive, Hoped Their 'Courage And Resourcefulness Would Carry The Day'

    Meat Grinder!!

    Quote

The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday that Western officials knew Ukrainian forces didn't have enough training or equipment for their counteroffensive but hoped they would be able to break through anyway.

The report reads: "When Ukraine launched its big counteroffensive this spring, Western military officials knew Kyiv didn't have all the training or weapons--from shells to warplanes--that it needed to dislodge Russian forces. But they hoped Ukrainian courage and resourcefulness would carry the day. They Haven't."

US officials speaking to The New York Times and The Washington Post have blamed the lack of success on Ukraine, saying Ukrainian forces are not using the "combined arms" tactics they learned from NATO countries.

If the "news" that the Tigers are inclined to hold onto Carpenter leaked from the Tigers organization, the whole story, such as it is, is that they are prepared to move him for the right offer. Honestly, there shouldn't be anyone who is untouchable on this roster for the RIGHT offer.

Carpenter alone is not really going to get much of a return. He is a 1.3 WAR player.

Ukraine’s counter-offensive is failing, with no easy fixes

    Quote

Ukraine is already outnumbered in every military capability. Its dire shortage of armoured vehicles means that Kyiv is approaching this counter-offensive with immense caution. Many Nato-supplied tanks and infantry fighting vehicles were knocked out during early probing attacks and they are consequently holding most of the rest of these assets back to avoid too many more losses.

If you’re going to contest Russia in the air, you’re going to need a substantial amount of fourth and fifth generation fighters.” We must recognise two things: this is not possible in the present context, and air power is not a magic bullet anyway

Ultimately, the possibility of a Ukrainian recovery comes down to its ability to complete frontal assaults.

  6. There Is More Evidence To Impeach Biden Over Ukraine Than There Ever Was For Trump

    Quote

After impeachment, the mainstream media showed almost no interest in investigating Biden family business ties, which were largely characterized as a series of unsubstantiated and debunked allegations.

Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, made public the bombshell FD-1023 FBI document, escalating Republican calls for a Biden impeachment. The document suggests President Biden engaged in a $10 million bribery scheme with an executive from the Ukrainian energy firm where Hunter Biden sat on the board, a legitimate “quid pro quo” that warrants investigating. Findings from the document, which was clawed into public view from the FBI, hint that the FD-1023 is just the tip of the iceberg.

A pair of whistleblowers from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) also detailed widespread interference in their criminal probe of Hunter Biden for lawmakers on Capitol Hill last week.

Ukraine has retaken 180 sq. kilometers in the south and has retaken 30 sq. kilometers surrounding Bakhmut.

Ukraine is on the verge of cutting off Russians in Bakhmut from retreat or resupply. Bakhmut. Putin's greatest victory in Ukraine over the past YEAR. Bakhmut. On the verge of 15,000 surrendering Russian military troops. Russian military performance under Vladimir Putin:

    What a ****ing humiliation.

After Suffering Heavy Losses, Ukrainians Paused to Rethink Strategy

    Quote

n the first two weeks of Ukraine’s grueling counteroffensive, as much as 20 percent of the weaponry it sent to the battlefield was damaged or destroyed, according to American and European officials.

There has been no large scale breakthrough. Most numbers I have seen have it up to 30% and that was just the first month.

  8. Ukraine Committed One Of Its Reserve Brigades to The Counteroffensive. It Quickly Lost Some Tanks.

    Quote

The initial idea was for the lead brigades to probe for gaps in Russian defenses, and widen these gaps for follow-on brigades to exploit.

Now we’ve observed what seems to be a formerly in-reserve brigade in action, and suffering losses, in Zaporizhzhia.
The previously uncommitted 22nd Mechanized Brigade apparently abandoned a pair of its T-72-style tanks—an ex-Polish PT-91 and an ex-Czech T-72EA—during an assault in the southern oblast on or around July 9.
