  1. That’s what I’m hoping for him. Upward trajectory and all.
  2. I didn’t care for that either. Let Vierling have the lead off spot.
  3. Javy bomb!!! Please be turning a corner!
  4. I prefer Vierling to lead off over Mckinstry. Too many strikeouts to start the game.
  5. The first of my quotes was my expectations for this year. The second was what I expected from him going forward. Those are some very lofty numbers, like Cabrera quality. That would be great but very difficult to achieve. The problem I see with having HOF expectations like that is that anything less is a let down. Some people who aren’t as patient as you cannot handle that. It’s why they’re bashing him right now, calling a 23 year old with his current trajectory a bust or a disappointment. To me is just plain laughable, like he was supposed to rise above all the sub mediocre surrounding him and instantly become a star? The way I see it is that he’ll likely wind up somewhere between our 2 expectations, which is a very good if not all star-like player. Personally I see nothing wrong with that.
  6. Then they were duped by the superlatives thrown around every year about the top prospects. Look at the things they said about Crews, Skenes, and even Langford. That’s part of the reason people bemoaned the Clark pick. Not because Clark was a reach, which he wasn’t, but because the constant barrage on how Langford is a superstar. Watching Tork at ASU I figured he’d be a guy that hit around 250 (ops above 800) and add 30 to 40 homers a year. People expecting triple crown contention, the home run record, or whatever lofty expectations the built up in their heads, I just don’t know what to say to them. I guess I just will say that I wish the all the best.
  7. I never understood the Tork hate and this really puts it into perspective. Usually when a player get this much grief it’s because we passed on someone who’s absolutely crushing it. As you pointed out, that’s nowhere near the case. Last year should’ve been in Toledo, Tork was obviously rushed and wasn’t ready. I give him a mulligan and consider this his true rookie season. My expectations for him were 20+ home runs and and ops above 750. He is very much on the trajectory to achieve and even surpass those goals. I really hope people unclench about him, gain a little patience, and enjoy watching the progression continue.
  8. Way to battle back guys, so close and had a chance to win it with our best hitter. Oh well, win the next 2 and it’s all good.
  9. Wow 13 hits and 11 runs surrendered to the worst team in the league. That’s depressing.
  10. Giving up 9 runs to this Royal lineup is tough to take.
  11. Ya that post I made didn’t age well, did it?
  12. Tork bomb part 2!!!! We’re back in the game folks!!!
  13. Did Wentz switch Jerseys with Skubal. That was just like many of his starts. I’m still in shock Hinch left him in there.
  14. Skubal hasn’t gotten one batter out this inning. What the heck is Hinch doing?!?!?
  15. Wow what an implosion by Skubal. Royals are crushing him.
  16. Haase has a chance to atone for his gaff but instead he swings at 4 straight pitches out if the zone. Please sit him Hinch!
  17. Javy walks despite his best efforts not to.
  18. Wow Haase, I really hope that opens Hinch’s eyes so he stops playing you. That was clown shoes right there.
  19. Not a great showing by the 2-3-4 hitters there.
  20. I was encouraged when the first 2 got on then I saw it was Haase, Short, then Ibanez and cringed.
  21. Sounds like a good idea to me!
  22. A web gem followed by a hit and a steal from Javy??? Great job!
  23. Quick 8 pitch inning for Skubal. I wonder if Hinch allows him to get 5 innings tonight?
  24. Tork bomb!!! Maybe the haters will be quite for a little bit???
  25. Well now I hope it’s just Hinch’s lefty/lefty thing as I don’t think this offense could weather another IL stint from Greene.
