  1. I'll type really slow...try to keep up. Vaccines keep people out of the hospitals. Vaccines keep people alive. So yes, you need to be vaccinated to get into certain places. If you don't like it, move. Or stay home. I really dgaf.
  2. Restaurants, theaters, gyms and more. Because vaccines keep people out of the hospital. And keep people alive. Before you whine about getting picked on, I'm just explaining things we learned about the spread of coronavirus. You want to walk into a restaurant without a vaccine? All the people in the restaurant don't want unvaxxed folks spreading the virus. Science....learn it.
  3. I don't think I mentioned you. I'm talking to the idiots with a short memory who say the vaccines didn't work. I'm saying, yes they did/do work. As does correct masking.
  4. That's because SO MANY on the right are racist, sexist and anti-vaxxers. Look at King Trump. Is there an American politician as bad as he is on SO many issues? Or do you agree with his aggressive form of leading the GOP?
  5. Unvaccinated stats; https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/24/cdc-study-shows-unvaccinated-people-are-29-times-more-likely-to-be-hospitalized-with-covid.html
  6. True. Some companies are returning manufacturing here. But trying to buy 100% American made products is almost impossible.
  7. And the Chinese can build an 8000 bed hospital in 3 days....lmao
  8. Cool...the vaccine worked. Pretty lucky.
  9. Agreed. People want covid to be over. I get that, I want it over too. But covid sets the time, we don't. I mean, I want winter over now but what I want and when it ends isn't up to any of us.
  10. People with short memories need to be reminded. The vaccine was developed for the Alpha and Delta variants of covid. And the vaccine worked very good against the early variants. It's why such a huge % of hospitalizations and deaths were the unvaxxed. And the vaccine protects against hospitalizations and deaths from the omicron variant.. I really can't believe you didn't know these basic facts.
  11. Testing and 5 days, huh? My anti-vax, anti-mask neighbor had a "cold" for about a week. Never got tested, still hasn't worn a mask and didn't isolate for a day, let alone 5 days. I suspect there's a lot of people like that. Real tough guys don't get sick. And if you do, it's your fault for having high blood pressure or an autoimmune problem.
  12. It would be interesting to see post-omicron. I hear stories about how much more contagious it is and it would totally change those numbers. Plus, with the vaccines, many people don't get tested if the don't have symptoms. But they can still have it and pass it on.
  13. Maybe he meant indoors. The last time I was at the grocery store, it was about 50-50. We don't have a mask or vaccine state mandate like Illinois does. It sounds like it may be ending soon, it's pretty restrictive. https://chicago.suntimes.com/coronavirus/2022/2/1/22913203/illinois-coronavirus-vaccine-masks-mandate-chicago-pritzker-omicron-surge-vaccine
  14. And all the games with 100,000 fans at UM stadium. People maskless (mostly) and screaming. Yeah, it's outdoors but that's a lot of people. I don't have any children or grandchildren, so I don't have a horse in that race. But if I did, I would want everyone masked. If not, keep my child at home.
  15. The governor of Virginia lost his first court case WRT face masks in schools; https://www.foxnews.com/politics/virginia-judge-grants-temporary-restraining-order-allowing-mask-mandates-to-remain-in-schools
  16. Last month, my son came home to visit (from Chicago). He couldn't believe all the people walking around the Detroit area with no mask. And he's a healthy 34 year old personal trainer. I was pretty proud that somehow I raised a kid with common sense....😅
  17. Well said. People are wearing cloth masks as a fashion accessory. Mask has to match your belt which has to match your shoes....
  18. I just follow the science. Cloth masks will protect you and stop the spread of the Alpha and Deltra variants. Omnicron, not so much. It's SO contagious, it can enter thru the mask and around any part of the mask that isn't sealed. It's why they call for people to wear N95 masks. Cloth masks are better than no mask but if you really want protection, wear a tight fitting N95. Here's just one link of 100's; https://people.com/health/why-health-experts-recommend-retiring-cloth-masks-in-the-fight-against-omicron/
  19. Should point out its the Omicron variant that cloth masks are useless against. It's so contagious, it can get thru the edges of a non-tight fitting mask. But cloth masks are still useful against the Alpha and Deltra variants.
  20. In some places, you're correct. My son lives in Chicago and told me that some establishments require a vaccine record and masks to be worn for entrance. He said these places were very crowded, people are very eager to go out and have fun again. But they also wanna be safe. So yeah, if you wanna stay home, you can. 😁
  21. I should ad that cloth masks are useless against Omicron. So says the "experts". A tight fitting N-95 mask is what they recommend. But using one for weeks and weeks? I don't agree, they are supposed to be disposable.
  22. I was kinda worried about the vaccine. The last vaccine I had was Shinglix (or some name, for shingles). It was a 2 shot vaccine. The 2nd shot knocked me on my butt for 3 days. Yes, I hear that getting shingles is worse but that vaccine was horrid.
  23. People are done with covid but unfortunately, covid isn't done with people.
