You know who else had a mediocre RAS score and a slow 40 time?
I'm being cheeky, of course, and not saying Williams will be the next ASB, but RAS only tells a part of the overall picture. I do think it's kind of ironic that for how much Holmes seems to put into RAS, one of his very best picks was pretty average according to it.

My guess, based on nothing other than the fact that they haven't acquired another WR, is that they want to give DPJ a full camp and pre-season to see if he's the guy.

Aside from Baez, they need to figure out if the guaranteed outs will provide value in 2025 and beyond. Their entire offseason posture was about developing these guys in the majors. There's a reason Harris undersold all optimism.
Tork's in his 3rd year and completely lost in all phases of the game. I fail to see how allowing him to continue to fail at this level helps build his confidence for the present or the future, and letting him figure it out in a low leverage atmosphere just might salvage his value going forward. The Detroit Tigers will still be here when he's found his game.

Too many guaranteed outs in this lineup. At a minimum, Tork needs to be in Toledo, because he's worthless right now. Hinch not sending him down to protect his confidence doesn't seem to be helping his confidence. Finding his swing and raking at AAA just might. This is a game they absolutely should've won but their offense sucks so bad.

The assumption that many make about Goff is that he's only good because of his line and the weapons around him. Outside of a couple of guys, though, every QB is at the mercy of his line. As for his weapons, it's always just assumed that they make Goff better, and never the other way around. Gonna be interesting to see how well Josh Reynolds does in Denver this upcoming season.

There's always going to be people no matter what Goff does, that would rather have an old, injured, 3rd round rookie QB because he's not Goff.
So long as that old, injured, 3rd round rookie QB can run.

Meadows, Keith and Tork all need to be sent down. Not sure who replaces them, but this team can't continue to basically gift opponents 9+ outs every game.

Yeah, if you get two guys who are trending towards gold-jacket careers after three season in a single draft, it's an A+ regardless of what you get from any of the others. The fact that they got Alim, as well, only solidifies it for me.
-
I don't know s**t about any of the players who got drafted, but I think the Packers will be the Lions biggest competition in the division going forward based on their history and the fact that their QB is more proven than Chicago's and Minny's.

Steele Chambers has to be a stage name.

Rakestraw profiles best as a Nickel...
So whenever he's ready to see the field there...
We'll also see more Safety time for Branch...
I think that was gonna happen anyway once they drafted Arnold. I expect Robertson to play most of his snaps at nickel.

Wow. Was not expecting a CB double-tap.

I know Clark isn't a power hitter, but why was the Tampa OF pulled in so far? Crazy.

Having ASB locked up is a relief. I don't even care that he reset the market, because by this time next year he'll probably be the 4th or 5th on the list, and he's worth every penny he got.
I love that the Lions were aggressive wrt to extending Sewell now instead of waiting for next year. They likely saved themselves money while also giving them the opportunity to spread his bonus over more years. That's some savvy s**t. We now have two of our cornerstone players locked down through their prime years, and the cap will only continue to rise over the course of both of these deals.

RB's may not have the same long-term value as other positions, but their developmental curve is smaller than most other positions. RBs can make an impact immediately.

Most of us thought we got Meadows cheap. Paredes did change his approach though, at least, according to Craig.
For sure. I was one of them.

Who'd have thought, early on, that the defense would be a big part in the Tigers winning this game?

Remember that time Peredes was a Tiger but Avila was a dumbass? That was cool...
I remember the vast majority of Tiger fans praising Avila for the Paredes for Meadows trade when it went down.

Just randomly adding black into your jersey is dumb. If you are the Raiders or Steelers and black is apart of your team colors then obviously fine. But just because you can have a black uniform doesn't mean you should.
That's how I feel, too, but we're in the minority. I will say that this black jersey is a thousand times better than the previous version. Overall, I'm happy with new unis, mainly because they ditched the stupid custom number font in favor of classic block numbers. They're clean and simple with no unnecessary outlines, although I wouldn't mind no outline at all.

I wish they'd have silver pants with the road whites. When I see the blue pants it makes me think of the Houston Oilers
I wish they'd wear silver pants with each jersey, but overall I like the new unis. Are people really not seeing the difference from the old ones, because there's a lot different here. The block numbers was my main wish, and we got them back, so I'm happy. I didn't want a black alternate and I wanted a new word mark, but whatever, these look so much more professional than the last two versions, so I'm happy.
