  1. I disagree with point 2. They can lose so long as they're competitive to the end, but a blowout is unacceptable IMO.
  2. Fulmer deserves this after that called 3rd on Parker.
  3. I prefer that Dirks be DD's permanent partner. They have great natural chemistry, and I think he'd be wasted on TV so long as Shep is there.
  4. Lumberjack Night.
  5. Like a lot of others here, I grew to really like Jim as the color guy, and I think removing the middle-3 PBP duties was instrumental in that. His strength was always playing off of the PBP announcer, and I think being limited to that role made him better at it. His greatest strength, though, was that he was genuine: what Price gave you during a broadcast felt like what you'd get if you were watching a game with him at the bar.
  6. Nice snag by Jaymo there.
  7. Sudfeld blows.
  8. Comish having a nice game
  9. Not how anybody sees it. Dude is getting destroyed in the replies, even by Giants fans.
  10. I'd be more surprised if Julian made the team, honestly.
  11. I seem to remember some discussion about whether the Tigers had cause to cancel E-Rod's contract at the time.
  12. I'm not even sure how this incentivizes bringing up top prospects when they're ready when it clearly incentivizes holding high prospects back from being brought up mid-season.
  13. I wouldn't offer E-Rod s**t.
  14. Not if you meet or exceed those higher expectations.
  15. Yeah, I'm not down with the "Harris had to get something for E-Rod" argument. Well, no, not if what's being offered is Dawal Lugo 2.0, and after E-Rod pulled his stunt other GMs would likely reassess his value to their team and adjust their offers accordingly. I didn't like that Avila gave good players away for garbage, and I'm not going to criticize Harris for not doing the same.
  16. Same, which is why I wouldn't offer him an extension. If he stays we have a solid lefty starter for four more years, and if he opts out we have money to play with.
  17. Not only that, but it's entirely possible that Harris did have a Plan B, and that team was either spooked by E-Rod pulling out of the Dodgers trade at the last minute or knew they had more leverage and changed their offers hoping Harris would feel pressured to "at least get something", ala Avila.
  18. Do you think it's more likely that Harris didn't trade E-Rod for "anything" based on what helps the Tigers most, or because he was afraid of what other teams might think of him?
  19. So you're positive that the story that Harris had the understanding that E-Rod would accept a trade to LA, then changed his mind when DET and LA agreed on a deal is a false? You're sure of this?
  20. Everyone seems to be assuming that E-Rod hasn't already told Harris that he doesn't intend to exercise his opt-out clause. I'm not assuming that he has done that, just putting the possibility out there. None of us know anything.
