  1. Hit for the Home Run Cycle today, which is kinda neat.
  2. 100%. I'm honestly baffled that any baseball fan still has animosity toward the pitch clock three years in.
  3. Obviously the Lions roster isn't as good today as it was with D-Mo, but this isn't the roster they're going open the season with, and with the multitude of needs the Lions have, D-Mo was kind of a luxury. Getting a 4th, a future 7th and a back-up interior lineman is incredible value for him. I see this as Holmes acing the midterm exam, with the final still to come.
  4. The video from the Tigers.
  5. Booo. I like both of the new unis. Quite a bit, actually. And as a gift to the board, here's a gif for y'all to use in future game threads.
  6. Right. It seems to me the best way to avoid the greatest amount of tanking is to just get rid of the lottery and go back to slotting the entire draft by record. You can't eliminate tanking altogether, but you can disincentivize tanking for the middling teams near the playoff bubble if they know there is no chance of winning a top 3 pick.
  7. Stephen A wants some of those sweet, sweet campaign donations.
  8. I can already not read Henning for free.
  9. Point me to the posts where someone here states that we just signed prime JV.
  10. Nobody here -- and I mean precisely zero people here -- think Verlander is gonna be the ace he was back in the day. Not a single person thinks that. Everyone -- and I mean everyone -- expects him to be a serviceable 4th/5th guy in the rotation and great influence in the locker room a la Kenny Rogers.
  11. Not gonna lie, this thought occurred to me, as well. The Tigers are in a nice position either way now, though. What a great signing.
  12. Here it is. Hull is a pretty funny dude.
  13. That's interesting. I recall hearing a story that in an early season 2003 game, after sacrificing a guy from 2nd to 3rd, Ortiz high-fived the entire dugout, apparently feeling pretty good about himself. Grady Little pulled him aside and told him, "next time, just drive him in," which was supposedly the moment Ortiz understood his new role.
  14. After last season ended, I was at least comforted by the thought that it would be impossible for the lions to suffer the same number of injuries to important players in 2025, but it turns out that they suffered even more than last year. Because this year it's on both sides of the ball. We just suck now, because too many of our high-end guys aren't playing.
  15. Too many injuries to too many important players. This team just isn't very good at the moment.
  16. There is an absolute SOL stench to this year's Lions.
  17. Yeah, Waldon has a long way to go to reach the level of vitriol targeted at Henning and Hackosky from this board. Sometimes women are bad at their jobs just like men are.
  18. I feel like we're gonna need at least one more score to win, lol!
