  1. Looks like the Tigers went all Mitzi Gaynor and washed last night’s game right out of their hair. Hope Enns can get out of the second inning here without harm.
  2. When the Tigers lose, I’m pretty much the same, even though I come here when I’m feeling bad I tend to sulk in the corner like a teenager and mumble things like “you just wouldn’t understand.”
  3. I wish no lasting ill fortune on any athlete and I hope his deficiencies continue through today and after then I wish him only the best.
  4. I was initially looking forward to this as one of those Thursday afternoon early start getaway games but it’s not one of those. I suppose that after a doubleheader yesterday, even though it was unplanned, this is probably a good thing.
  5. After the Tigers charged back and had the second game in hand yesterday, the Dark Angel of Regression spread her wings to spoil the celebration. I hope her more amiable sister, the Bright Angel of Moderately Good Fortune slowly wafts down from the heavens like a feather landing gently on a cotton ball to go correct yesterday‘s outrageous maleficence.
  6. Kahnle‘s meltdown exceeds anything I ever thought possible.
  7. Maybe we don’t deserve to win this game. You can’t expect Tommy to be perfect all the time.
  8. Jahmai Jones. Everyone contributes; it’s not a team based on only two or three guys with everyone else as bit players. It’s a nine cylinder team. every guy in the lineup every night can do damage. It’s just a wonder to behold at times.
  9. I was away for a bit, so my question is was Dingler pulled for strategic reasons?
  10. Loving Javy is so much better than being resentful about him.
  11. At least Matty and Wenceel drained Gore’s tank to an extent
  12. MalloyD Torres2B Jones, JahLF Torkelson1B VierlingCF Pérez, WRF DinglerC Báez, JSS McKinstry3B
  13. I think when assigning the winner is sort of subjective one of the criteria is the best pitching performance by a relief pitcher, and apparently the scorer thought Smith was the one that supplied that criteria.
  14. They gave the win to Smith who pitched 3 1/3 innings
  15. Smith again, they’re stretching him out.
  16. The thing that’s great is that it was done on purpose and intelligently too.
  17. A six pitch inning by Smith in the eighth.
  18. That inning by Smith just now was almost a Todd Jones quality teeth-gritter. Send him out in the eighth.
