I've never ever heard him referred to D-No. Perhaps the players did as they tend to do that kind of thing on the field... but reporters shouldnt. What an embarassment.
What the f would you know about it, R-Lo?

Riley Greene is on pace for about 37 hrs...if he could keep that up, with the rest of his game, he would be the legitimate star that we were hoping he would be

Coulda been me.
I've been high on him since we signed him back in 2017-ish.
It was Avila's first foray into spending decent international money instead of "spreading smaller amounts" around. That was probably part of it... it was $500K IIRC.
But it was also that he was supposed to have a very high hit tool and really good speed and was projected to have some power (not much, but better than zero) for a middle infielder.
And I was getting tired of the Rey Rivera's that Avila was drafting at the time.
He showed the hit tool right away and looked like a decent prospect with a decent chance but...
Struggled in Low-A in 2019, pandemic so nothing in 2020, and was "meh" coming back in 2021, low and high A.
But he broke out in 2022 with a .900+ OPS in high-A and Erie... so I started chirping about him again.
A bit loudly.
Glad to see he's made it to The Show and let's see what he can do...!
No, it wasn't you

Greene and Canha are on pace for 30 home runs.

Hard to miss wasn't it? FWIW, I stopped wearing one 30 yrs ago after an wrist injury and never put it back on. A phone in my pocket puts the time close enough not to bother carrying around a lump on my wrist.
I did the same, and stopped fraying the left wrist on all my sweaters

Winning 12 out of 22 isn't bad at all. I would like just a slight improvement...13 out of every 22 for the rest of the year.

The name Bailey Ober makes me think of the pilot Clarence Oveur

I love Wenceel Perez, one of those guys you could follow in the DSL and the GCL, and he was a shortstop back then which made him really interesting. He stalled for a couple of years but came back and had a huge year in 2022, tailed off a wee bit last year, and one offseason genius, I forget which one, did not include him in the Tigers top 30. So whoever that guy was, Wenceel has given him, in the words of the immortal Lou Brown, a nice big sh*tburger to eat.

I don't think anybody said they hated him. I would just tell him that he's a pro now, so act like one, and for your own sake don't ever reveal that you have rabbit ears.

Olson has 7 K's through 4 innings, on only 55 pitches. So far so good.

If Correa woulda been out there that comeback may not have happened.
Or, he might have fractured 15 bones in his body all at once on that one play.

I don't really care for that, he needs a responsible adult to tell him to stop doing that. That needs to come right from Harris, right from the top, right now. This organization does not employ punks. Stop. Now.

Brilliant. Avila's lasting gift is Hinch, whose in game management wins and gaffes result in a net zero effect on overall team performance. He is neither a positive nor a negative. He is a 0 WAR manager, like all the rest of them.

Hey Lange the bus for Toledo leaves at 8:15. Be under it.

Highlight of the day: Wenceel's first hit, first stolen base.

Maeda got through 3 innings on 40 pitches, very efficient

A pleasant surprise W!

Manning is at 78 pitches...one more inning at most

Do wins in April count?

That Toledo lineup looks better than some Tigers teams of recent memory.

****. Didn’t think of that. I live in Dearborn and finding halal hot dogs could be a good thing. Is that cheating? It’ would be beef. Maybe it is cheating. The hot dogs are the bad part.
I’m not sure 9 12 ounce cans of blue light or Miller High Life would do me in. I have consumed that much beer at a game a few times back in the “good old days”. It’s been probably 10 years.
Yeah, the good old days were almost 50 years ago now, but I was found in the bushes outside my university residence building, early on a Sunday morning, after having bought and consumed a lot of beer at the folk club on Saturday night, The legend was that it was 20 but realistically probably only 14.
