Orioles: Skubal, maybe another spare part if they want one, reliever or OF'er...?
Tigers: Coby Mayo, Sam Basallo and 3 pitchers: 23 yo Cam Weston (in AA), 22 yo Nestor German (in low-A), 19 yo Jesus Palacios (in FCL):
Who says no?
So do I.
I especially like the flexibility... the main thing I was pointing out.
As for Cossa, really, it's all up to him.
Well... and Stevie's call as well of course...
Tanev?
No, that's ridiculous. Same with Stamkos.
Maybe Hanifan. I was always more interested in him than Tanev. A guy 27 I'll go 6 to take him to 33 or 34. But 6 at 34 to take him to 40...? YEEESH!!!
I prefer Yzerman's Kane 1-year and Talbot 2-years if we're going with aging vets to provide leadership on the team...
No question.
I think Stevie will let the season play out before he makes a move
Training camp injuries and all...
But at the start of the season... do they push out one of Lyon or Husso? Or do they wait for the deadline when one of them (or both) might be a bit more movable and any injury issues would hopefully be resolved by then...?
The other "fly in the ointment" factor is if Cossa PUSHES his way into Detroit playing time. Maybe that doesn't happen until around the trade deadline... who gets moved? who takes over in Grand Rapids?
But what if he's doing that in training camp? What if the team is willing to be so bold as to break camp with him? I don't think he's there yet - from a Red Wings conservative management perspective - I'm just sayin'... what if?
It's GOTTA be a 2-way and they're stashing him in GR...
Just a WAG...
Another lefty D, and he's scored almost 0 points in the NHL in 100 games (OK, 11 points.)
6th rounder Forslund actually sounds interesting though... 6'3" power forward scoring dude...
Probably all depends on how his skating is though. Too slow & he won't get anywhere & will be a huge defensive liability...
That's why I say: "Give 'em Petry!"
It won't happen... but I'm holding out for a shocker like that...
If it were to happen: Petry has 1 year left and Holl 2 so Rangers would go with the shorter term.
Holl as 3rd pair is perfectly fine with me. I don't know what the 2023-24 problem was with him; but I don't care.
I would love to send either Holl or Petry to the Rangers as part of a Trouba trade...
But that ain't happenin'...
They can keep their money...
Take Petry instead and...
I'll do a cartwheel...
We should run an Over/Under in EVERY Game thread for the inning of the Tigers 1st hit. Or the batter (even more tricky as they could get a couple BB's and still not have any hits...).
Is it another rookie? 6th inning.
Or... let me make this 1984 LIVES!!! Official:
Opposing Pitcher: RHP Griffin Canning (NOT a rookie), 4.72 ERA, 1.33 WHIP.
Over/Under Inning Tigers get 1st hit: 3rd inning. (IE: My guess: 1st. I'm guessing the lineup is Perez-Keith-Greene-etc... and one of them will actually get a hit in the 1st...).
Over/Under number of Tigers batters BEFORE they get their 1st hit: 9
