  1. So weird that U2 which was basically a similar celtic alternative band explode and they didn't -- as much. I liked U2 a lot but that always had me wonder. Maybe they just were more interested in the more interesting leading man, which Bono clearly was.
  2. Which of his 20-30-something dudebro staffers thinks this is "tough" behavior?
  3. Oh, that's a very cool story. He definitely had a very dark streak which was clearly alcoholism and depression. He became "spiritual" during this battle. The album he did in Nashville as a project called The Raphaels was very interesting. Very dark and brooding and very christian. Not my usual fare to be sure but very interesting. Not for everyone and certainly not for the Oi, Oi, Oi rowdy celtic rock crowd.
  4. Was just reading In Ian Toll's Pacific Crucible about the very aggressive US sub commander of the Wahoo who had his deck gun fire on Japanese survivor's after a sinking. Kinda shocking but also, not so shocking considering the barbarism of the Pacific war.
  5. That time Morning Joe talked about the Red Sox so much that Mika got annoyed.
  6. Real revolutionaries would welcome the longer jail term so they could work on their political tracts while in prison.
  7. So, we can DEFINITELY trust Putin with any negotiation.

  11. I intend to give this a whirl this weekend during an idle moment in a gloriously open weekend with only a hitting practice tonight. Hamilton 2.0 Dashboard – Alliance For Securing Democracy (gmfus.org)
  12. Noticed while chasing something that was "trending" on the twitter platform. Yeah. Russia is an intelligence organization supporting a bunch of oligarchs but once you expose that they are an empty house. Not that their friends in the West don't cause all sorts of mischief.
  13. For sure. For all the troglodytes who roll out George Orwell as a hammer against any form of collectivization, his writings on the folly of pacifism were incredibly poignant. He knew the stakes if the Totalitarians and the Fascists got away with things at the expense of democracy. He also knew how much it served the bad guys for these people to get away with their facile arguments unchallenged.
  14. Tarrio should get a bit longer you'd think.
  15. 17 years for treason and sedition. Ok. I guess. Serve all of it and I'll be ok with it.

  17. I have some deep cut Big Country on the youtube algorithm today. I miss Stuart Adamson. A real loss.
  18. Yeah, seeing lots of Russian-driven talk about Ukraine's casualties as if they had a choice to fight.
  19. I think he's troubled by the rise of the machines and this was just his way of acting up in a consequence free manner.
  20. I hope the human jury lets the bank robber off if this was the FBI's criminal complaint.
  21. side topic: did AI make this huge faux pas and was this in the FBI criminal complaint? And if so, who is getting fired? Feds bust Livonia bank robber with 4-year-old son in getaway car (freep.com) The article later makes clear they mean 5 Mile road. if this was the reporter being a dope, well fine. If it was an AI-driven editing process: God help us against these machines when they decide to eliminate imperfections.
  22. Yeah, noted. One important part of the appeal of Trump is the demographic of guys who cheat their business partners in local regional businesses and then brag about it on the golf course (probably while cheating in the game). That anyone would call out such behavior is the nail that must be hammered down.
