Listening to the Bulwark podcast today was interesting. A lot of positive feeling since the SOTU but some discordant notes from the left-wing and weird focus group responses from minority voters who appear bamboozled by sneakers and mug shots. All-in-all, I would say Biden is in a much stronger position today than he was this time last week. If Trump continues to secure funding from foreign actors to pay his legal bills in exchange for some sort of policy shift (e.g., Tik Tok), then that will give Biden another 20 things to run against. Screw the Jason Castros of the world upset at him for saying "illegal" in the SOTU, when they can sit things out and elect an actual napoleon who will plunge the country into two decades of chaos and war.

Assuming that Caroll's reason for legal action was her being defamed for calling him out on his sexual assault, she should deny the bond because Trump defamed her again on Saturday night. She should seek additional remedy until Trump can't find a foreign leader to bail him out as a way to buy influence or acquire US nuclear secrets.

Some interesting things going on with the bond that Chubb gave Trump to appeal the E.Jean Carroll judgement. Trump said something about it having been weird last night...Freudian (er. fraudian) slip? Chubb has connections to Russia Trump defamed Carroll last night .... AGAIN. She has a right to extend the judgement. The judge gave Carroll the right to check the bond weird, but perhaps in this case smart...since Trump keeps violating the judgement

Seeing a lot of this tonight

I watched Hamilton with my daughter tonight. Probably seen or heard the album more times than I can count. She's very theater kid and she's analyzed the costumes, the singing, etc. Every damn time I see something new. Tonight the "teach em how to say goodbye" song from Washington for his farewell address floored me again like it always does. First Chris Jackson who plays Washington has a great voice. He, Leslie Odom and Renee Goldberry (Angelica) are the top three in that for me. That song though...written before Trump attempted his Jan 6 coup. Before he had his tantrum because he lost. Its powerful. America is full of people motivated by that....angry with that. They may have been exhausted by the stupid WWE/MMA idiocy of the far right and its manufactured anger but they know what real outrage is and they will react appropriately come the time. The stakes are that Trump will not leave office even if he loses or ignore the constitution or put people in power who will rubber stamp his whims like Project 2025 says he will. People will know that when the time comes.
