  1. I would bet you don't support granting Ukraine NATO or EU membership because it will complicate Russia's warmongering.
  2. They do negotiate. They have regular prisoner exchanges. They have the grain deal.
  3. And why should Ukraine stop now when Russia is a cardboard cutout of an Army waiting for the door to be kicked in this Spring? Why deny them their right to a victory?
  4. Ignore? I'm sorry but nobody is ignoring the war crimes and egregious violations of international law.
  5. There are certain major corruption issues: e.g., Brett Favre's welfare money. The idea that they would deviate money from athletics to hard science or things that could help humanity is ludicrous.
  6. Weirdly, the ROTC officers I've worked with who graduated from that program have been pretty solid people. Otherwise you would think that any institution that followed their template would produce crack heads.
  7. Fishsticks doesn't like college education for your kid
  8. My best Monty Python memory was my siblings around Thanksgiving table discussing The Meaning of Life gluttony scene. "its wafer thin" My mother was SO angry at my brothers and sister for quoting those lines. Actually was one of the things we talked about at Mum's funeral as one of those great shared experiences.
  9. BWAH!!!! That's amazing.
  10. And, there is an element of the general population that dislikes people who overweight the essential-ness of Monty Python. I'm a giant fan. I think the Holy Grail is essential viewing for children.
  11. The UFR for the offense for last year's game was f'in awesome. I can only imagine what this year's will be like.
  12. There is a lot of history to suggest that DMZs and divided territory are the result of outside sponsors growing tired of wars. Still, the Ukrainians are not done. We've done wonders with the small investment of tech in their war. That experience will greatly assist our defense of Taiwan if we learn the right lessons.
  13. Noting that Cade is from Nevada.
  14. There is an element of the RW that hates Monty Python with a passion. Too eggheady for them. I have actually heard one of these guys say he preferred Benny Hill. Now that's weird. i actually appreciated both. Benny in The Italian Job was pretty amusing.
  15. A certain regime slaughtered a lot of people after the war was already determined to be "lost" They did so because they felt they could negotiate using the lives of that ethno-religious group as bartering chips. Death Marches | Holocaust Encyclopedia (ushmm.org)
  16. I'm sure Russia is hoping Ukraine will negotiate away its territory based on how terrible its war crimes are. They are exposing their weakness.
  17. Ryan Day's in a box too. If he admits his longsnapper screwed up he's calling out his player.
  18. So...in the world I live in...a primary source plus another source is generally reasonable corroboration. SO, I called Ryan Day and ... JK.
  19. The quote from Harbaugh from another source https://247sports.com/college/michigan/LongFormArticle/Jim-Harbaugh-reflects-on-Ohio-State-win-previews-Big-Ten-Championship-Game-198850676/#198850676_5
  20. There is a story on MGOBLOG quoting an OSU fan on Reddit (so yeah, super legit...but hey) that says that the decision to punt in Michigan territory while down 24-20 was botched fake in which the long snapper mistakenly snapped to the punter instead of the guy who was supposed to get the ball. According to this version of events Harbaugh knew about this from some source and told media that they dodged a big play there. Might be a big deal. Lets enjoy that Fate gave us a gift if true. 21. Is the NFL job in accounting or concierge desk security?
  22. By 2028 the GOP will be arguing over the propriety of witch burnings of uppity women who backsass.
  23. He who defends everything, defends nothing. --Frederick the Great (so called) Fixed fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of men (or man). --George Patton You know who was actually correct to deploy such in your face defenses was Rommel in Normandy. He knew he couldn't move his forces around the battlefield because he had learned the Libyan and Egyptian desert that if you do not have at least air parity; having mobility doesn't help you. Not sure how this exactly applies in this game but there is a maxim for everything.
  24. Stanford and Deion Sanders does not seem to be a good fit.
