  1. I think the t-shirt should be "Dominican Fidrych"
  2. yeah, that all pisses me off in a low-burn sort of way. The Trump stars and stripes flag or the stars replaced with crosses flags or the thin blue line flags...all not great.
  3. Got reports yesterday that the in-laws who favor the strict evangelical line that the vaccine was developed too rapidly and is the work of Zog, etc. are hospitalized with COVID. I think a strong Nelson Muntz reaction is in order. I don't wish pain and suffering on them but if they do survive, perhaps they will think a bit differently of science.
  4. "were all making choices" was his line wasn't it?
  5. Fireworks on memorial day? That's weird. People really don't understand civics at all. Weirdly, my wife and daughter were able to go shopping today and it wasn't even holiday hours.
  6. Human garbage espionage agent that cloaked himself as a friend to civil rights and libertarians
  7. All the people protesting besmirched got it. Black Lives do not in fact matter. Kill them, enslave them.
  8. So, the average person who says BLM is not tied to any organization. Its something that HUMAN fucking beings should be able to agree upon. BLM must be some shadowy Soros-driven Jew thing in which space lasers are directed at our genitals or something in this other narrative.
  9. He can't have been impressed by the 20th Century.
  10. Having a very similar youth softball experience this weekend. Jackasses ruin everything.
  11. I think I can agree with the ideals of Christianity and other major religions without even having to adopt the stringent "lets blow up a girl's school so they aren't defiled by knowledge" rule sets of the extremists. As one writer put it: it keeps the peasants in line. It doesn't hurt that the alcoholics and the other 12 step programs have that rock to hang onto in the rough waters. If I have a religion its a soft-cultural Christianity (I love me some Christmas) guided by the Enlightenment principle that we should always be striving to reduce the suffering of those truly in need and that Science and Reason should be used to the benefit of humankind. I've seen enough of the terrible that man can do to know that there is a lot of awful on this planet. There are quite a few Churchill quotes that I liked about all this. That its a wicked thing to take away a man's hope. Some others as well. He was not much of a fall on his knees bible man but he saw and lived through a lot.
  12. BLM is a terrorist group?
  13. National...should be natural. Spellchek got me. My assumption is that if God is there, he's been punking us. You have to appreciate the small wonders but the big horrors are pretty bad.
  14. This couldn't be more spot on with the last 4 months of war could it? The rebels have Kalashnikov-based weapons for pete's sake. I'm so there for the Stellen Skarsgard.
  15. There are ways in which we are giving a LOT of help to the Ukrainians that we have not given another country since 1942-45. That goes for intelligence, that goes for weapons technology. I think its a given that Russia and China are salivating over the potential to get sources and methods and tech from that when the dust settles. That said, the Ukrainians are not getting everything and they are pushing for everything because that's their card to play. Our interests align with their defeating Putin in such a way as it cripples his ability to do this again for a long while. If it ends up with him being forced out or further isolated, all the better. If it teaches Xi a lesson in better manners equals better partnerships, also very good.
  16. Many a victim of man made and national disasters has pondered this
  17. That sits in my bookshelf. Hitchens was a very interesting voice.
  18. Ausmus had a hand full of aces and got bluffed
  19. This team is mired in mediocrity this year but damn, it feels good to win on a walk-off
  20. The useful purpose is to protect Northern Virginia from Putin
  21. My position as a gun owner who has built more than one AR by myself (way too easy to do that). You need personal liability insurance to own a firearm You are obligated to keep them under lock and key If you can't rent a car you can't buy a guy Background checks to which you self-certify annually. Fees for the background checks should fund some sort of mental health clearing house. No ghost guns allowed Federal Tax stamps for ARs of any kind (these are required for fully automatic weapons and silencers now). I could think of a few more. The nutters who are into this for boogaloo Civil War won't like all that.
