  1. Honestly, this was about as much as I expected from this team after this mess of a season. Better than most B1G teams. Not up to our usual standards.
  2. US quietly planning potential responses in case Putin takes extreme step in Ukraine
  3. I guess the math is pretty hard here South Africa is in the G20...with Argentina?! Man, how do they rate that.
  4. So, I was wondering if the Japanese, S.Koreans, Aussies and Indians were there. That they would not be would be like the Eternals where everyone wonders why they didn't weigh in for the Thanos battle. But, per this it appears that Japan was there
  5. The second most powerful army in the World? I heard a Ukrainian politician say that just now. I saw it in text above. We should not give these guys any more credit than they deserve. Iraq had a large army and it fell on its ass when it faced a motivated professional force. Russia, likewise falls on its ass when it faces a force trained, armed and professionalized by the West and fighting for its freedom.
  6. JC, you have shifted your tone on this a bit over the last month. I recall you were particularly averse to the threat of wider war. I think that's very sensible. My emotions are all over the map. I've gone like a metronome between "bomb them to the stone age" and "think of your 401k if there is a nuclear war"
  7. Its like a Marvel movie and the Putin-aligned alt-Right is dying inside to see it.
  8. This tweet is 19 hours old and I'm just seeing this
  9. Well well, Good work boys!
  10. Russian influencer surprised at the sanctions working.
  11. My choice for an ending to this is that Ukraine captures a Russian city and the negotiation occurs on a table made of Putin's corpse.
  12. Biden has laid out the marker that chem and nuclear weapons are a red linear thing
  13. contrary to this. I think the series Chernobyl indicates that the troops the Soviets used to first work the reactor problem were their specially trained chemical warfare troops. It was an area that the Soviets invested some resources into.
  14. I can only imagine how badly chemical attacks would go for Russian troops. Badly trained troops should not attempt difficult things.
  15. This video is great. I love how he bolts to screen right to get his first post-news hit drink as it ends.
  16. Too hard to think about top 5 lists. I used to think "Everyday I write the Book" was the perfect pop song and then I just got sick of Elvis Costello.
  17. The other story about the Russian general talking to the US delegation in Moscow appears to be revealing of dangerously bad morale in the Russian military.
  18. German skinheads were never a real thing when I was there. The issue was the Red Army Faction.
  19. Hypothesis: the end of the Cold War deployments to places like Germany was bad for our civics. When the people on the lower-end of the economic spectrum did not have the outlet of seeing other successful societies they turned inward and weird.
