Maybe the only thing saving the Ukrainian people right now is that Putin doesn't want to give Trump any power by giving him a diplomatic win. Although, he seems really disconnected from the cost of the war to his own people so maybe he's deluded into thinking he can just keep going.

We need a tapestry of interconnected democracies around the World. I don't need to control or even design what happens in Brazil or Malaysia but I would like them to support free trade, human rights and the rule of law.

However, the not getting married and having kids out of wedlock thing is classic poor people self-destructive behavior. We have the rituals and the dogmas to cement the two kids together so they can muscle their way into the middle class together or perhaps secure their passage into the upper crust. I see a lot of military types are losing their mind about the commissary program cut. My cousin (oh no! ROMAD1 is telling a story about someone) is married to a Navy guy -- but remains separated -- just to keep her CAC card so she can shop at one.

Soldiers are going to miss the A10 for close air support. I think the Air Force is probably also going to miss it. But they would much rather move onto 6th gen fighters. The cuts to the contractor workforce are going to hurt a lot of marginal productive types and accelerate retirements.
