Its kind of crazy to think about the Goff/Stafford trade now after three years.  I am pretty sure 99% of the people thought that trade was mainly for the draft picks (which it was the main reason but ended up being a lot more).  We were a rebuilding team that could take Goff's contract.  I don't think anyone thought Goff would be this good for us.  I think how everything laid out was perfect for him.  A big factor was we didn't end up with the #1 pick in the 2021 draft and there wasn't a quality QB in the 2022 draft.  Another big factor is if LA got an earlier draft pick than 6 in 2023.  Would we of traded, taken Anderson, or taken Stroud/Richardson?  Most thought he would be serviceable while we built up our team but he wouldn't be with us past his last contract.  He did get lucky that the Lions did a great job finding talent around him (especially a top 5 OL).  To his credit, he did exactly what he needed to do and drastically exceeded expectations.  How the story continues is going to be just as interesting.  Does he get us to a championship?

I can't think of a better sports trade for everyone involved.   Rams and Stafford got the Super Bowl they needed.  Lions got the draft capital that our GM knew how to use and started building and Goff got coaches who believe in him and coached to HIS strengths instead of forcing him to be what he's not.     Everyone won that trade.   That's pretty rare.

  2. Now I know why I haven't gone in 7 years.   It's not worth the effort.   If they won't put it in, why should I

This team's hitters approach at bats with all the enthusiasm of a middle school kid reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance.

Had to clean my glasses when I looked at the giant scoreboard and saw Gio's OBP is only one point higher than his BA.  -- and he was batting fifth.    Kerry Carpenter - one of the few guys that actually give you any offense was batting sixth.

Then the Javy problem.   Why?    Just why?   Just find someone who can play short.   Anyone.   They couldn't do worse than this.   There are times when you watch sports and you know when a guy is done and he's done.  He's checked out.   He got his money.   Ooooh, he got a hit today.  Still has an OBP under .200, right?    Your defense better be Alan Trammel/Ozzie Smith to justify staying - and it isn't.  Swallow the pill - blame it all on Al and move the **** on.

I don't understand why people think Hinch is good.      Yeah, he's good at going on runs when the team is all but eliminated from contention.   He tinkers too much.  He's Ausmus Jr.    Gotta be the smartest guy in the room.   Why does Riley need a day off.  He's 23.  Don't think you're gonna wear him down on a 70 degree day.    I think he can manage.   Oh yeah, it was a left-handed starter.   Well, if Riley can't play against lefties, then he's not a real major league player, is he?

A lot of school field trips there today.  You probably didn't win over that generation playing like that.

Casey Mize was great today - he made one mistake, just one.   When the ball went over the fence the stranger next to me pretty much said, right along with me,  welp, this one's over.

Yep.  I still have 18 days left on my current month of the Bally's app.   Think I'm just gonna cancel after that.  I can find better things to do.

Not going to another game unless I get free tickets.      Not worth the effort.   Could have spent my day off work gardening or something productive.

I know,  I fully expect that bubble to burst.     Like - he doesn't know anything yet - he has no reason to think yet and I feel like the second he does he'll be toast.     too bad he stopped being a Shortstop.

My God, if Trump didn’t run his whole life and his whole business like a mob boss, we wouldn’t be here. If the 130 K had just been paid to stormy, even if it was in and out of that account that Cohen set up, everything would’ve been fine and legal. The fact that they tried to hide it, the way they and report it as a business expense when it was nothing of the sort, this is where the criminal illegality is, and is very very evident.
He’s guilty, and the cross-examining by the defense can hammer Michael Cohen, calling him “liar liar liar” for the next two days  - it does not matter.
Everything he’s said today as far as what he did for Trump and how these hush money payments were camouflaged as opposed to just an outright payment, is where this is going to be Trump’s downfall.

    He’s a criminal.

If he'd just admitted to having sex with her he'd be fine.   We knew Bill Clinton was a serial cheater.   I don't care about that.  I care about how you run things and if you put good people in place.    Clinton did that.   Horribly flawed person but smart and I think he actually wanted to help people.   Trump bankrupted a casino and never pays anyone that works for him,  just pays people off.

I'm not voting for husband skills,  I'm voting for someone who can do the damn job.

I assume this is the max each team can achieve.

This does not matter.   Who is coming here?   NBA stars want to be multi-media stars, they want to go where the glamour is.   Every once in a while a podunk team like Indiana or Minnesota gets really good --- because they draft right.   These stars want to play in LA, San Fran, Miami, NYC, Dallas, Atlanta,  not Detroit.  I don't care how much Detroit has turned it's image around, these "entities" aren't coming here.    Pistons aren't signing any superstars.    Troy Weaver with cap space is like a kid with a room full of toys that nobody's allowed to play with.   He just shows off his cap space and draft assets.   Who cares.   The fact that he's even in the building shows you how checked out this owner is.   He probably made a bundle off the land where The Palace used to sit and that's all he cares about.    It just doesn't matter anymore.  You have GM who is untouchable.    Even Yzerman isn't this untouchable and he's on the Red Wings Mount Rushmore.  WTF is it with this guy?    This franchise is dead.  It's over.   As long as Gores owns it, it will never be relevant again.   And he has no plans on selling.     I feel bad for Cade.  Hell of a player,  seems like a good guy too.   I hope he flees the first chance he gets.   It's criminal what this owner and his cronies have done to this team.

  6. Sovereign Citizens.   It doesn't really matter if you're a citizen of Michigan, Kansas, Spain, China or Dumbfukistan, you still need to follow the laws of the land.

SovCidiots need to be forced to sign a pledge that they are not part of society and not a citizen, and when they do that includes being cut off from their power, water, banned from all roads -- you know, the stuff that society pays for.  Then, they need to have deportation hearings start against them.  I mean, if they aren't a citizen, then what are they doing here?  Deport them to where?   Doesn't matter, just not here.   There are plenty of people who would love to be a U.S. Citizen.

But here's where the true test comes in.  Signing the pledge means they get cut off from all public assistance.  That means no more Unemployment, Welfare, Disability, Medicare/Medicaid.   None of it.  You're on your own completely.   Since most of these yahoos are unemployable or they all seem to have some sort of disability, they'd probably back down really quickly.

I have a relative who is "disabled".   His knees are really bad and he can't work.   Not even a desk job?   Nope.   But he builds decks for cash all Spring/Summer.  I am seriously thinking of taking pictures of him and turning him in.  I'm tired of his Anti-Socialism Sov Cit bullspit.   He's been living off the government for about 20 years.    I work my arse off and I'm not complaining about that.  I love my job, but even if I didn't - I sure wouldn't scam  my way through life.

And yes, he is very pro-Trump.   Grifters stick together.
