Could you imagine Miggy getting hooked for arguing in his last game? - if anyone could do that, it would be Angel - who should be working his last game today. Don't care about their union, it's time to finally do the right thing here. I think umpire performances should be evaluated like players, coaches and GMs. Why should they be totally untouchable? The vast majority of them would have nothing to worry about, but there's always the 1 to 3 that have no business being at this level. These guys are like Supreme Court Justices and they shouldn't be.

What makes you believe that? Has he ever said anything that would make you belive that? Jamo's mistake (or is it Jay-Mo) is that he he's a kid and he's done some immature thnigs. His father wasn't blaming anyone, he wasn't complaining about the NFL he basically said My son is a 1st round pick and people are going to pay attention to him so he he'd better do things right. He made ZERO excuses for his son. If that's how he was raised, I am not worried about it right now. He'll get his plays. He knows it, we all do.

Gotta let the kids ride it out one more season and if they can do that and win 84 or 85 games, great, but stay the course on that. First of all, hire top notch engineers to see if they can develop a foot/ankle guard that Matt Manning can wear that doesn't bother his pitching Is Skubal really this good? How about Reese? Is he this year's Wentz or is he for real Can Mize possibly avoid that awful TJ bounce back year? Will Ty Madden, Wilmer Flores or Jackson Jobe make a great leap forward? Can they figure out a way to get Malloy into this lineup without sacrificing too much defense? Is Carpenter for real? I feel like he's past the Boesch/Shelton timeline Is Colt Keith a 2nd baseman or 3rd baseman? Is Bigbie next year's Carpenter? What can they get for Baddoo, anything decent? If Rogers can be a .230 hitter, does he have 30 HR potential? Does Dingler factor in next year? Can they keep Riley Greene healthy? Are we certain that E-Rod is leaving? They'll need to re-negotiate, but maybe he really does like it here. The big market teams aren't for everyone. And why aren't we considered big market? With the passion of our sports fans here, we sure are. The city proper has declined in population, but not the metro. We still have 4.3 million in our metro and there are signs that people may be returning for high tech and EV jobs and housing way more affordable than other places. They'll need to spend on some pieces, but not a big one. I think the only thing I'd consider is if the Padres really are desperate to trade Juan Soto and do the Tigers even have a package to get him and there's the issue of signing him long term first - and figuring out why the Padres would be willing to deal him so quickly. I don't think there's a chance in hell of it happening, but I sure hope the Tigers front office doesn't think that way.

Please, someone explain to me how MLB refuses to fire Angel Hernandez. Believe me, NOBODY is going to think it's ethnically-motivated. That Bryce Harper call last night was atrocious. My theory is that his lawsuits were to prevent MLB from firing him because it would look retaliatory and that would be the only thing saving his arse. No, no it wouldn't. He just sucks and everyone knows he sucks. They finally caved and put him in a playoff game and he got overturned 3 freaking times because he sucks. Threw Kinsler out of a game for looking at him. Please MLB, do everyone a favor and can him. Finally.
