  1. I almost went to the bathroom for that punt..........glad I didn't What a great call going for it on the one yard line..........totally set that up !
  2. No flag on that 2nd down pass ? Lucky there.
  3. Maybe the figured it's Zach Wilson and he'll be on his own 1 yard line, but ugh............after a drive like that to walk away with nothing just sucks.
  4. Fuck. Take the points on the road, idiot.
  5. 4th and 1. Do you take the points on the road?
  6. I am calling for a TD by Brock Wright here
  7. What a throw to ASB..........perfect. Goff CAN play outdoors.
  8. I'll never forget when the Jets were 0-8 and rookie Keyshawn Johnson made a catch for a first down and jumped up and did the emphatic first down point and the color commentator said "You're 0-8, sit down"
  9. 25 years ago - last game of the season. Jets @ Lions at the Silverdome. The last game I ever saw at the Silverdome Both teams needed a win to get into the playoffs. Parcells vs. Fontes The noise level was the loudest thing I have ever experienced (louder than a Smashing Pumpkins concert). The game was stopped on several occasions because Jets QB Neil O'Donnell couldn't hear anything. The refs finally gave up asking the crowd to be quiet because that wasn't going to shut us up. I walked into the suite of my friend's radio station and the windows were sealed shut and you couldn't hear any crowd noise - it sucked. That was the game were it also got eerily quiet when Reggie Brown got hurt and we saw Lions players running full speed to get help, so we knew it was bad. He never played again but he can walk Barry broke the 2,000 yard barrier on a 2 or 3 yard run and the crowd erupted Then I said to my friend "What if he loses 3 yards on the next play?" and about 3 seconds later he busted one for 53 yards down to about the 2 yard line, Lions got in victory formation and it was game over.
  10. There's one born every minute...............Every 20 seconds in the red states.
  11. I tend to like Christmas movies that have a darker edge to them, but still funny. I love the movie Bad Santa because it's just so beautifully awful. Best line in the movie "Is Granny spry?"
  12. LOL...............
  13. That's a Minnesota team that the Lions pretty soundly beat yesterweek. Maybe they are for real.
  14. Hey........With Karate I'll Kick Your Ass !
  15. This town is so ready to get behind someone. Thankfully Michigan football got good and filled that void, but its not the same as the whole area getting behind a team named DETROIT. This has been worse than the 70s and the 70s were awful.
  16. The J.D. Martinez trade was maybe the lowest point for Al. They'd have been better off just taking the compensation in the draft. 3 players..........none of them any good at all, not even BAD major leaguers. Didn't have to trade J.D., but Al opened his mouth SEVERAL times with how desperate he was to trade guys and it took all of his leverage away. He was so awful.
  17. I'm just saying that knowing Miggy's 32 million is going away that you can't bring in ONE bona fide MLB hitter to this team. Not one? Come on, man. Not asking for much. I know we weren't in on the really big guys and all those teams will regret what they've done, but we have a team of AAAA players and has-beens. I hope they can do wonders with Tork and fix Baez and I hope Meadows can return to his average self. I'm like Red at the end of Shawshank.................I hope, but hope is a dangerous word.
  18. We went from one extreme to another and it's left us with motion sickness................Dad spent stupidly, but it sure as hell was fun. I can understand wanting to not do that anymore being a "small market". But we're not a small market, dammit, this is a huge sports town that has been going through a decade of disaster. I hate the Small Market mentality. When this team is good, that park fills up. It's the sucky part of baseball. It takes a long time for guys to develop so it takes a long time to see if your front office is doing a good job, but I think it was pretty clear by the end of 2019 that Al was pretty bad at his job. Same thing as Matt Millen. The Lions let him linger 3 years after everyone else knew. So, in order to be truly fair with Harris, we can't really tell until about 2026, if he's doing a good job. I like the people he hired - they all came from really good organizations, but after 7 years of awfulness we have to wait another 3 or 4. It's brutal.
  19. I think the NFL needs to chuck this idea that a division winner gets the auto bid. The playoffs should be the best 7 teams in each conference. Still have division for scheduling purposes. This idea of an 8-9 or 7-10 team hosting a playoff game is awful. Nobody in the South deserves to be in the playoffs. Tampa Bay is puke. Carolina gave up. Atlanta lingers and the second Winston went down it was over in NOLA. If Carolina somehow gets into the playoffs at 8-9 or 7-10, shouldn't Wilkes get the gig permanently? Don't make the mistake the Raiders made by firing Rich Bisaccia. Rich had them playing really well and they almost beat the Bengals in the playoffs (on a flukey play that might have been a bad call). They hired Josh McJerkface and took a big step backwards.
  20. I think the Lions could beat anyone in a playoff game in good weather conditions. They almost beat the Eagles before their rookies knew what they were doing. Ever since Aubrey Pleasant left they have played like a team that could beat anyone, really. The secondary got so much more physical and aggressive after he left and yes, they still get burned, but they also make some big plays............before they got that way they were just getting passively ground down. Aubrey wasn't following the script and the whole defense broke down. I get why they sacked him.
  21. Oh, they have us believing..............Isn't this what they always do, only to let us down? We've been here before. I remember the year with Schwartz where all they had to do was win 2 of their last 4 and they lost all 4? It would be so Lions for them to go into the Bears game needing to only win 1 game to get into the playoffs, only to lose both. I hope I'm wrong, but I just can't believe. It would take a Festivus Miracle !
