  1. Aaron Jones and Von Miller. I don't know how many times in the past two years those teams have asked players to take pay cuts. In the Bills case, Von Miller made a lot more than Cominsky and the Bills had serious cap issues. The Lions have asked about 4 players in two years to take pay cuts. Keep in mind, this is an organization that has had very public feuds with two of its best players over recouping signing bonuses. It's not a good look.
  2. This is not understood. This doesn't happen often in the NFL and the Lions are doing it way more than anyone else. On top of that, the Lions aren't even hurting for cap space and they are asking players to take pay cuts. Combined with not spending a lot on free agents and the Lions are going to get a reputation for being a cheap team.
  3. Sure no one is coerced but would you want to work for an employer that hires people and then a year later says either take a pay cut or your fired?
  4. You keep signing players to contracts and then ask them a year or two later to take a pay cut and no one is going to want to sign with you.
  5. Harris, Okawara and Vaitai did it last year. Honestly, the Lions should stop doing this or else they are going to get a reputation.
  6. Not sure where those numbers are coming from since everything I see says Davis passer rating against was 96.1 which was the first time he went above 90 since his rookie season. Davis is also better in man coverage. Tampa rarely runs man and the Lions run it a lot.
  7. I think it's underrated signing. He can play slot and outside and is good against the run. Has shown steady improvement with the Raiders. He's like a good version of Will Harris.
  8. She needs to lay off the plastic surgery but she’s doing an infomercial for a dentist not even in her state
  9. Darnell Mooney got 3/39 from Atlanta. Reynolds and Boyd just got more expensive.
  10. I would be happy if they could sign Zietler and Reader and either bring back Reynolds or sign Tyler Boyd. Maybe one more DB for depth.
  11. None of the four teams in the conference championship game have made any splash moves.
  12. I would say cost first in terms of contract. Also, from I have been reading on Davis, he fits better in man which is what Glenn like to run and Bowles almost exclusively ran zone. He does seem to be a better fit for the Lions than Tampa.
  13. I think Holmes will pounce if there is a top free agent who didn't get what they wanted and is willing to sign a one year deal. I doubt that guy is Hunter or Fuller. I think receiver is an underrated need. If they don't bring back Reynolds, I wouldn't mind going after Tyler Boyd.
  14. All these moves by the Vikings and their QB is Sam Darnold.
  15. Christian McCaffery was also a fringe MVP candidate who they traded for a 2nd round pick.
  16. The Lions only gave up the one 3rd round pick. They are also receiving two 6th round picks back. They essentially got Davis for a pick swap.
  17. I've seen everyone report it as the Lions 3rd which would be 92.
  18. Holmes 3rd round draft picks are McNeill, Melifonwu, Joseph, Martin, and Hooker. The jury is still out on Martin and Hooker, but McNeill, Melifonwu, and Joseph were starters on a NFCCG team. Holmes has shown he can get useful players in the 3rd round. It's not nothing.
  19. Joseph and Melifonwu were after 93. McNeil was a 3rd but higher than 93. That's 3 starters in the 3rd.
  20. It's terrible, but every time I see a black man named Carlton, I get this image in my head:
