I have voted in Detroit twice in 2005 and 2008. My mother even volunteered in the Hanson Clarke campaign. Apathy was a big thing. My mother went door to door and many didn't seem to care. I have no idea if anything changed in nearly 20 years.

Apparently 51% of Detroiters don't think it's a problem or at least enough to fill out a ballot.

Detroit non voters are like the Uvalde police. A madman with a gun is slaughtering innocent children while they just stand around outside.

Republicans and lack of turnout in Detroit are to blame. Both can be true.

It's not like we're asking for any herculean effort from Detroit. Just asking Detroit to turn out at the same rate as the rest of the state. If they did that, it would be hard for a Republican to win statewide elections. A democracy requires all of it's citizens to participate. Half of Detroiters don't participate and these are the consequences.

Can the progressives get Norway to interfere with our elections to spread universal healthcare?

Biden is the nominee in 2024 as long as he is still alive. You either vote for him or be content being an authoritarian country. It's that simple.

I understand that, but it's what we are faced with currently and more than 49% of Detroiters are going to have to vote unless you have a better idea.

The Democrats are playing at a disadvantage but they still had an opportunity to win. Michigan was there for the taking and Detroiters didn't vote. I'm guessing if I look into Pennsylvania and Wisconsin it will be a similar story.

Who insulted them? I'll be woke now. They are to blame. Detroit had the lowest turnout in the state. It's by far the largest voting district in the state and the most Democratic. They didn't vote in the primary either.

In Michigan, for example, Trump only won by 10,000 votes. Detroit had a voter turnout under 50%. Clinton won Detroit with 98% of the vote. Hundreds of thousands of votes were left on the table. Running up the score in California doesn't do any good. Unfortunately that is the system we have.

Now that Biden said he supports carving out the filibuster, I'm sure Manchin and Sinema will get right on it. Progressives can rejoice. Biden is pure again. If only Biden were from Michigan, he would be Pure Michigan.

Democrats could be pushing more to sign the ballot petition to codify Roe into the state constitution. Elizabeth Warren has done that as well. I have signed the petition and have volunteered to collect signatures in Sterling Heights on Saturday. You should stop by and sign if you haven't. Codifying it in the state constitution is much better that having pop up tents in the forest. Until then, abortion isn't illegal in Michigan yet and the poorest of Michigan's residents have access to it just across the river.

In all my time in northern Michigan, I have only seen DNR in national forests. The only thing I have seen resembling the feds was a border patrol unit in Sault Sainte Marie.

They can cross the river into Canada. It would be easier, quicker and safer but hey an assanine idea is doing something. Progressive love their symbolic gestures.

What a relief. Poor black Detroiters will only have to go 200 miles into Trump territory to Manistee National Forest for an abortion.

Elizabeth Warren said National Parks, not federal land. Uninhabited forest 200 miles from the largest urban center isn't much better especially when they can just cross the border into Canada. I'm guessing a lot of states don't have national parks within distance of urban centers. It's likely why they are national parks.

Democrats aren't entitled to your vote. I just know you will be complaining the next 4 years and beyond when Republicans take over.

This is probably the best explanation I have seen. There is a lot of entitlement within the progressive ranks.

Elizabeth Warren had the brilliant idea of opening abortion clinics in federal parks. There is one federal park in Michigan. It's an uninhabited island in the middle of Lake Superior. It's only accessible by boat or floatplane and closed during the winter. It's a 600 miles from Detroit to where you would even board the plane or boat for the island. wHy IsN't BiDeN mAkInG tHiS hApPeN?!
